Ok, so the iPhone 3G has gotten a ton of press lately, and I've expressed my disgust with the original iPhone (with all the stuff they left out, 3G being one of those things)... That being said--which kinda goes along with all the trendy text messaging kids standing in line--what are the odds that people with their iPhones and Blackberrys will move into the 21st century and start using services like Twitter, Pownce, etc? If you don't know what they are, please look them up and start using them.

Anyway... I got my iPhone today, and I opted out of the text messaging plan. Each and every person that has text messaging is just playing into the phone companies' game. It's ridiculous. I ended it there. That's all I can say. I'm sure I'll be the only one. I mean text messaging is the biggest scam on the planet.

-> I had some math in here about how much of a rip-off text messaging is, but I know nobody cares, so I took it out. <-

Funny little story on top of that though. And I hope I one day have a chance to be the opposite of the parent in this story. There was this redhead in front of me. She seemed to be obvlious to technology, because me and this other dork-type were talking about the original iPhone and the f'ed up Activation/Purchase process for the iPhone 3G... I digress. Well she needed her dad to come down and buy it, etc since that's the way that Apple is doing it at the Apple store. You have to be the primary on the account to get it through the Apple store... Anyway, her dad decided he didn't want to wait in line and went over to the benches like 10ft away... At this point we had all been greeted by the Apple person that was checking the upgrade availability of everybody in line, so that there were no suprises. Of course we're like 5th in line (5 people took like 45mins)... She waits until she's like 1st in line, gets called in, and then feels like she should inform her dad that she's actually not eligible (If you're the type that gets a new phone every 2-3months... *sigh* *snicker*) for a phone upgrade, and it'd be $499 for the phone. PLAYED. I'm sorry, but I would have turned around and walked out of that store immediately.

I finally replaced the 5 year old Pink RAZR that I borrowed from Christine's friend. Patience is a virtue. I told you a 3G iPhone would be out sooner than later. w00t!
