I don't wanna be left out

Who: Zack, OPEN
Where: streets (outside Flynn's Arcade?)
When: current time?
What: Zack, a User, arrives on the Grid after searching forever for Flynn
Warnings: Keep it PG-13, guys.
Note: I'm still a little shaky when exactly in the canon timeline that I want to take the guy from. But consider it at least after Flynn Lives is created. Because... ( Read more... )

Another new arrival...? Tron could sense the confusion from the program's body language even before he could see its face. The Portal is being more active, it seems. This one doesn't even have a disc. Hurrying across the street to greet the other, he paused when he caught sight of the too-familiar face, his eyes widening in surprise.

"Ram?" He couldn't help but say the other's name as he approached. Could it be another version of his friend, brought here by the glitches in the system? It was possible, but still...

Zack turned when the now familiar name was called out to him. He looked obviously surprised at first then the expression slowly turned into a sheepish grin like that of the little boy caught with his hand in the cookie jar before dinner. He gave an awkward wave. "Oh, um. Alan?"

What was HE doing here? How did he GET here? And what was he supposed to do about it? Oh, crud.

Tron blinked at the name; it had been a long time since anyone had called him that. Kevin had mistaken him for his User upon first arriving in the old system, cycles ago, a lifetime ago, and Tron had not even communicated with Alan-1 in so long, it seemed as though his original User no longer existed. But if this one knew him, if he thought that Tron was Alan-1, then that meant...

"User..." he breathed out, still unable to repress his natural awe and reverence for one such as this. Quickly recovering, he shook his head and stepped closer to the User. "I am not Alan-1... ah, Alan," he corrected him gently. "My name is Tron. This may be confusing for you, but you are on the Grid."

"Not...Alan...?" he repeated like a parrot before he'd realized he was doing so. He was clearly perplexed by the notion. And then something clicked. "Oh, Tron is it~?" he asked with a sly grin.

But he couldn't not notice the strange attire suddenly. He blinked and unconsciously reached out towards the glowing lines--was that circuitry?--on the other's body. He stopped short without needing to be addressed and looked quickly up at Tron with an awed expression. "The Tron?"

Alan had never acted like this before. It seemed stranger to keep believing it was his old coworker than the idea of the person before him being the real video game character. Especially when taking into consideration, well, everything surrounding him!

"Wait--where am I?"

Although every newcomer had a certain air of confusion for some time, Yori had begun to recognize the particular look of awe that went with someone who had never imagined such a world existed.

User, Yori judged this one, more by that expression than by clothing, and approached with a friendly smile to confirm it. She was startled to notice how much he resembled Ram, and then pleased. Ram would be delighted at the chance to meet any version of his own User, although Yori didn't know what that User's name might be.

"Hello," she greeted, extending her right hand in what was hopefully still User custom. "I'm Yori. Am I right in thinking you're new to the Grid?"

[[This can be set vaguely after your thread with Ram and Tron? Or completely separate, weird timelines are only to be expected around here. :) So whatever you want.]]

Zack's attention snapped away from the fanciful sights when he heard the feminine voice. He smiled faintly at the beautiful lady even as he automatically responded to the outstretched hand with a light shake. He didn't even think about it; if he had, he might have done something different. "Uh, yeah. I'm new here..."

How did this work? Clearly he was at a loss. Maybe she had a few answers for him.

[[It shall be--! ...whatever it ends up being. >.>;; I'm not too concerned either way. ^^'']]

Yori nodded, fully sympathetic to the confusion of an unexpected and massive change in one's world.

"Did you come for anything in particular?" she asked. With the number of Users in the Grid now, he might well be looking for a friend or coworker. "I'd be glad to help if I can. Or if you want to go home, I can take you--the Portal is the way out, the inside access to the digitizing laser." The Grid still wasn't a safe place for an inexperienced User. Though she did hope he'd let her introduce Ram first, if the two hadn't met.

[[I don't know how much Zack ever worked with Lora, but he might notice the resemblance. Or not.]]

He snapped out of reverie as her questions forced him to actually focus. He took a good long look at her before uttering a soft "huh" to himself. He shook the thoughts off however to answer her questions instead. "I actually wasn't expecting to come here at all--but I don't think I want to leave just yet! This place is...really exciting." He grinned.

"You said your name was Yori, right? Do you know if--I mean--wait, okay. Is there a polite way to ask who made you?" He finally just blurted out at the end. He looked embarrassed enough about it without having to be told it was possibly--probably--rude the way he asked it.

[[...I am so indecisive. Sorry for the late! Oh, and, gonna just set it after the other for the sake of my own sanity. >.>;]]

Gem had been wandering near the old Arcade, lost in thought. Programs showed up everywhere now, due to the portals, but to her the Arcade was the most reverential place. It was where The Creator would appear, in the days before Clu. To her, it was the right place to appear.

After watching for a few moments, Gem started to move onward, when the doors pushed open, and a man appeared, his curly hair quite familiar to her. Stopping, she spoke out, softly.

"...you are familiar, Progr..."

Gem blinked, then a knowing smirk spread across her face for a moment. "...no. User."

She was a Siren, and she was programmed to recognize a Users, Programs and their designation. He looked like Ram...could this be his User? It was always interesting, to see the Users who actually look like their Programs. Flynn started to create so many programs that were not in his likeness (like herself) that she forgot how...thrilling the sight could be.

"Welcome to The Grid, User of Ram."

Roy froze a bit when the gorgeous lady in white stopped her gaze on him and addressed him after a moment. He repressed a shiver as her calm, cool voice flowed right over him. She almost seemed robotic, too perfect, but if anything that made her even more intimidating to Roy--he was never all that good with beautiful women that weren't programmers, and even then he was better off just debating over code than asking them out on dates. He couldn't help it then if he got all awkward when trying to reply to the Siren.

"Um, th-thank you. It's a very interesting place. so far. I mean, I really like it. It's beautiful." Blink blink. O-oh. He meant--he didn't mean--oh, hell. He blushed slightly.

Gem smiled slightly. If she noticed that he was flustered (which she did), she made no show of it. She understood what sort of affect she had on people. Her programming, her appearance--it was natural for Programs and Users alike to be take aback by the Sirens. It was a fact, not arrogance, to her.

Sometimes, in fact, it made her life a great deal more difficult.

"It is beautiful. The Grid...I hear is very different from your world." She stepped closer, her movements less smooth than a typical human. She stopped in front of him, nodding. "My name is Gem."

He grinned uncertainly as she stepped closer and ripped his eyes away to peer curiously at their surroundings for a moment. Different. Yeah, that was one way to describe it. His gaze darted back to her.

"Hello, Gem. It's nice to meet you. I'm Roy. And I'd have to say it's definitely different from this."
