Who: Bit and You!
Where: Any street corner in Tron City, then anywhere we end up.
When: Whenever. Bit has a poor concept of time, and now you can too!
What: Bit broke a little bit (it isn't completely compatible with the new system and just needs a little TLC).
Note: Prose / action tags / dirty pictures : they're all good.

Bit had been on the New Grid ( Read more... )

Boomer was out on one of his usual neighborhood patrols, and he only noticed it when it came to a stop right in his path.

"Huh." He stooped then, picking the little guy up gently, just holding it in the palm of one broad hand, giving it a gentle poke with his thumb, "Looks like somebody's out of energy."

He gave it a small charge then, not wanting to overload the little guy, just enough to hopefully bring it back online.

The bit took the charge, but there did seem to be an odd waste to some of the energy as it was released into the air.

Nonetheless it came online with a start and rolled around in the program's palm in thanks. It was just starting to rise into the air when the normally smooth changes on its body seemed to stall and glitch. Its fluid shape shifting stopped, started again, and then stopped entirely as the bit fell back into Boomer's hand exhausted.

"Looks like somebody needs a patch." He murmured, "Maybe a good old-fashioned energy bath." He shook his head, padding up the street once more, headed home, just keeping the poor worn out bit cupped in one hand as he palmed the door open with the other, managing to draw a small dish of energy all without dropping the little guy, just setting it carefully on the edge of the dish.

"I'm going to have to set up a halfway house for strays pretty soon here." he said, leaning against the table's edge to watch the bit.

The bit rolled into the dish and certainly seemed more animated once it was neck deep in energy. It started to run the perimeter of the container, getting closer and closer to the center, once there it popped into the air and then dropped back down with a small splash.

This was more like it!

At the mention of 'strays' it got up and floated to the middle of the room so it could do a better environmental scan.

Had Clu been here? That program had certainly gone astray considering it had wandered off without his bit.

"That's better isn't it?" He couldn't help but smile a little at the fact that the Bit was doing better, though he knew it was only a temporary fix, at least until someone could either get the bit an update, or someone could figure out a patch to at least keep it from leaking.

His brow arched as it made a scan of the room, "Looking for something?"

"Yes."

Bit made its way to the corners of the room, checking to see if there were any doors or closets bit enough to fit Clu. Just, you could never be too careful right?

Boomer was perfectly content to let the bit explore as it would. There wasn't much around, the place had been pretty empty when he'd claimed it, and he hadn't collected much in his time there, "Program?"

He figured that was the most logical thing for a bit to be looking for.

Bit was in his face in less than a nanocycle.

"Yes." Have you seen him? He is about so tall and is absolutely perfect.

There was a soft laugh at that, shaking his head, "Easy there little guy, I don't know who you're looking for. You know where you last saw them?"

"Yes." Bit felt like it had been telling a lot of people this story. But maybe this program would be the one who could help best! It was hopeful.

"Well that's good." He said with a nod, "Where was this?" Because there hadn't been anyone around when he'd found the bit in the middle of the street, not that this didn't mean there wasn't someone looking for the little guy.

Bit hung nearly motionless in the air. If it's little blue facets hadn't continued to morph, it might've stalled again.

Clu was last seen somewhere that wasn't here. It was a different place. The programs were different and the scenery was different.

"Don't remember, huh?" He shrugged, "That's alright, everything changes pretty quick around here, I'm not surprised you got lost. Happens to the best of us."

"Nonono." It vibrated in frustration.

Bit remembered, it just didn't know how to get to the old place.

Well that wasn't the answer he'd expected. He scratched the back of his neck, thinking that over, "You remember, but you don't know where it is?"

"Yes." Close enough at this point. "Yesyesyes."
