Who: Boomer & whoever he happens to bump into, there's people around! Where: Residential zone When: Yesterday. No! Today! RIGHT NOW! What: Neighborhood watch Warnings: No. At least, there shouldn't be.
~it's a beautiful day in the neeeighborhood~namesramMay 10 2011, 02:35:45 UTC
Ram's window was only a few stories up, with an excellent view of the street below: a wide boulevard with only two tank lanes and plenty of room for lightcycles.
It was wonderful having a forcefield around that didn't zap you when you touched it, and in return for its obliging friendliness in that respect, Ram leaned through it every chance he got. Today, looking around with his arms folded on the sill, the actuarial program noticed a familiar figure pacing along the sidebar. "Hey there, Boomer!" he called. "How've you been?"
[[so Ram and Boomer totally live in the same neighborhood y/y? ^____^]]
He blinked up at the voice, then smiled, giving the other program a wave, "Ram! Doing just fine. No complaints." He cocked his head then, both brows arching, "How about yourself? Anything exciting going on in your circles?"
Not that their social circles were all that different, all in all, it was just that Ram's was a little bigger, since he was somewhat more gregarious than Boomer was.
(hellz to the yeah. Which means that Ram'll probably be meeting Boomer's new ward one of these days)
Ram waved back, grinning at the burly security program. "Lots of new parameters, that's all. Anybody else moved in since the few millicycles? We've kind of been flooded with change requests so I fell out of the loop."
He nodded, "Couple that I know of. One of them's living with me now." He gave a rolling shrug, perfectly comfortable, and really perfectly friendly, "Name's Kweri, about yea-high." He gestured, his hand just about mid-torso, "Lost her other half on the re-rez, or if she's back nobody's seen her."
He tilted his head from side to side for a moment, "Doing alright so far as I can tell. Usually tags right along like a shadow, she's resting up right now though, got about as much energy as a bit, that girl." There was undeniable fondness in his tone all the same, "Takes up about as much space as one too."
"Good for her." Too many of the returning programs kept to themselves, hiding or brooding, when networking with others could have been a much-needed source of support. And Ram had an idea that Boomer could do a lot of supporting. Hearing the care in the security program's tone, he was glad that little Kweri had latched onto him.
There was his usual crooked smile, one brow arching, "I'd wager she's the only one round here who's actually shorter than you are. And I didn't think that was even possible."
A rolling laugh followed then, nodding, "I know, I know, you don't need the reminder, just a stepladder to reach the upper shelves." There wasn't any malice in the teasing, just good-natured amusement, "She is, at least for now, don't know if that'll change when her other half shows up."
As far as he was concerned it was a 'when' and not an 'if', he was hopeful that way.
"Only if I can't get you to reach them for me," Ram teased back. He'd never really been sensitive about his height, and meeting his User, who was obviously the best template ever, had dispelled any and all possible insecurities on that score.~
"Well, there's plenty of new units here, so they won't be crowded out. I hear the buildings are going to get a couple of add-ons, too."
"That's what I've heard." He said with a nod, "And it'll be nothing short of amazing so far as I'm concerned, been too long since we had that kind of construction, that kind of space."
