It's ridiculously frustrating on whole new levels. I thought bowing on a violin was really annoying with getting the angle of attack (especially on G, but I feel like a piece of music is sadistic when it wants me to cross strings on erhu. "What, you want me to do 4 (third finger on inside string) to 6 (first on outside)?! Slurred? And then do it backwards again?! WHY?!" It's more confusing since you have to lift your fingers, whereas on violin you could keep your fingers put on the strings and cross back and forth all day with no problems.

Total mind screw.

One of those songs you need to play at the end of a terrible practice session to remind yourself that you can play a song at all. XD

(Actually, my go to song has been "Ode to Joy," which makes me feel good inside since I have to do a fourth-finger reach without an E string.)
