Actually, there's one Hyo!fan (which I believe it's one of us here) tried to point out where the problem is but as usual, NO ONE CARES TO READ AT ALL (well, there's one poster who cared but that's all.) *SIGH*
I don't want to repeat what we talk time and time again here. And I know it's not YoonA's fault at all that she's this famous, actually she's one of my favorite in term of personality too. And I love all the girl (what a true fan I am. <3) But it's some of popular members' fans that get my nerve. These days I saw Yoong!fans complain that they don't see her on TV as much as before, some Sica!fans ask for more of her fancams when there're tons of it on YT and recently that you described all those things about Hyo's cyworld but end up like talking to the wall! What about "Power of 9" that they always shout out? Do they even care about the lesser members who don't have much chances to do anything especially that owner "number 9" in their ranking?
And now people started to tell the underrated members fans to e-mail SM to ask for their works. Well, if that's the case, shouldn't the fans who believe in "9" do that altogether? Ok, I'll finish my rants here, sorry. :P
But in the end, from what's going on now and with all those arguments. It really ensure my thought that maybe it's too late for SM to start promote Hyo now. :/

I actually tried to send that Hyo!fan a PM pretty much saying, "Good job, but it's kind of futile, I know."
Generally speaking, the (hardcore) fans of the Big Four have this position of privilege where they've been given so much and gotten so much that if they don't constantly receive that level of awesomesauce, they're being deprived. And since they are in a position of privilege, they don't see or understand why the people don't have those things should feel deprived. They don't know the struggle to get heard or noticed as fans (or for the member herself), so they don't care. (This is not true for all cases, of course, as we have lovely fans of the Big Four here who have joined in the debates about Hyo with concern and thought.)
I like how the Yoong fans annoy you but the Yoong fans are being annoyed by Hyo!, Soo!, other-member!fans. LOL. It's would be delightfully ironic if it weren't so damn frustrating and sad.
Oh, that poster seems to always say something that rubs me the wrong way in some way. Not just in this instance but in the past as well. I've practically come to expect it.
But I love your point! Why isn't every "NOTHING WITHOUT 9!" fan clamoring for our beloved underrated members to get some time out there? Oh, wait, they're too busy wanting to see more of the other members. LOL.

The gap is a mighty one. See how far from privileged we are: at this point, Hyo fans are excited to see any Hyo, anywhere. Even on "Star King" where she didn't say a word and didn't participate in things that all the other SNSD members did (the card trick), and just kind of bashfully stood around. See?
Yeah, I know there're exceptions just some fans that make me :/ And like I said I love SNSD as a group, nothing the fans do will affect my love of the members for sure.
About that poster, I'm a bit surprise cause I remember a few months ago I saw he/she wrote some good things about Hyo but it's like he/she has changed his/her mind now.
And this is completely off-topic, there's this news article about celebrities charity auction. It reported that Taeng-Yul-Sica-Sunny swept top four highest price (surprisingly, Yul's socks got higher price more than twice of Sica's T-shirt there!) and they stated Hyo's name later with other 2 celebrities. I don't know if Hyo got the lowest price or not but it's still surprise to see them mentioned her name in the news. (I think SNSD divide in 2 group for first and second auction cause they mentioned YoonA's stuff already been sold.) But hey, the source is KBS, I know they're Hyo!bias just like us, lol.
The fans make me get defensive about my fandom. =T *huggles Hyo*
I've always felt rubbed the wrong way seeing that poster for whatever reason. I'm not going to go back through posts to pinpoint it, but I always hesitate at seeing the poster's name come up.
I shouldn't have clicked on that because the numbers depress me:
Makes me really wonder (again) how many of Hyo!fans out there in Korea? And how does she feel looking at those numbers? D: I'm willing to think that most of Hyo!fans are female and still young, they might not put too much effort in auctioning things. ;__;
ROFL, power of 9! Sorry, I had to say it. I think I need to get it out of my system in this post so that I can ban the phrase from my journal unless said in jest or analyzation.
Though that brings up a good question of Hyo's fandom makeup. I think internationally it's mostly girls and women, though we do get manly men who love her, like Craver. HRM! I think she demands respect rather than fan devotion? Her talents, anyway. People'll put her down for her looks, but they'll say in the same breath, "But she can dance!"
I still dream of locking her up in rooms with all these dancers I want her to work with.
