Are you sick? Everyone seems to be getting sick. D:
Maybe you should merge the performances that were back-to-back with no lineup changes? These seem more like one continuous stage to me, and because there are no lineup changes it just makes the difference fractions smaller.
I don't think it skews anything because they all particpated and so they all get credit for those performances in the same manner--what I do want to show is how many stages they performed and "Gee" and "Genie" are two separate songs. They didn't even perform "Genie" at KBS.
I was trying to think of a reason why the dance stages would have been so prevalent and I couldn't really think of a good one. It's not necessarily easier to get rehearsal time in vs. a duet collaboration that just focuses on singing. Maybe it appealed to a younger audience, keeping the long-ass shows dynamic?
I, too, was shocked by how leveled the numbers were. I think it was mainly my Hyo!bias coloring everything I watched because, damn if I didn't get a ton of Hyo!
Pain flows from a higher place to a lower place . . . So that means Tiffany is lower on the "everyone's bitch" scale?
I find all their pre-debut pictures really fascinating but that's because it feels like a peek into the private lives of idols that is always fascinating. D: Oh, idol-dom. They definitely look fresh faced and uncertain, not the polished idols--in some cases more polished than others--we know now.
I was curious about that little "dancer" rumor. So they were worse at picking up choreo than Tiffany? Or did Tiffany's voice compensate for her dancing? I wish there was more information than just that throwaway rumor line.
Re: maknae. It just makes you think that none of the maknaes in a group are really maknaes in the company since they train so long and thus must always have younger trainess coming in after them. Maybe they all have to go through that, "I'm the maknae?" phase.
I think HyoYeon was expected was expected to do better, too, since she was such a well known trainee. In hindsight it's easy to scratch our heads a bit, but her name was one that had been floated around interestingly.
Jessica's length of training probably also had her on some people's radar. I think perhaps they pulled back a bit once the pre-debut talk and antis got it into their heads to hate her for being linked to SuJu boys and whatnot. Ah, antis.
Yul was so babyfaced two years ago. She's grown into this sexuality and this on-stage sex persona. It definitely wasn't always there and not like it is today.
By lower do you mean "more of everyone's bitch"? :P After all, SooNa have taken their time to prank her language-wise too. That was hilarious how in HB Jessica started out all "You're pranking her" to "Wait, now I'm uncertain D: DAMN YOU AND YOUR SILVER TONGUE"
Pre-debut photos: What I've taken away from this is that I would like to see SNSD cornrows stat, but at the same time this fills me with D:. :\
Ah, antis, indeed. In this post-Gee post-Dream Concert '09 world it's easy to forget that Kpop antis used to be its defining feature and SNSD's real claim to infamy. D:
In SNSD's case the maknae adjustment have have been easier because of their long training period. Most of the girls would have just seen her as a kid because that's how they would remember her.(And as I noted before we know for a fact that DBSK and Suju babied her dawwwww) But I figure that the "I'm the maknae" really settles in once the maknae is the only one left in school. The difference between high school and graduated/college life is enormous. (And hahaha at changing lineup groups. I wonder how Nicole dealt with being not-maknae, or if she had to. I know that Reina was definitely peeved for a while after Koharu joined.)
lol, family-friendly Yuri developing into "family-friendly" Yuri. I say it's the hair. Her |o face isn't quite the same in the 2007 Gayo Daejun version of Adult Ceremony. And there is definitely less hump-y waves in her "Attack of the Pin-up Boys" solo. (OH GAH. XD Womanizer was totally Head Pimp Gahee showin' off her star girl Yuri and new disciple Hyuna. XD)
Well, han seungyeon apparently tried to be the cute one in the group, even from the start. Nicole probably found her niche with SGB's segment--not maknae cute, but ditsy sociable cute.
I'd say Womanizer was Head Dog Gahee showing that she had what she took, even with New Star Yuri, with Hyuna trying her darndest not to be out-danced. Hyuna's got a solo coming up, and I can hear dance break material in half the song. What I've seen of her dancing hasn't been impressive so far, but perhaps she'll get decent cheoro this time. Or else she's gonna be the next Chaeyeon, whom I think is v nice but who is well in the slide into overly-sleazy dance pop, and Hyuna's only what, 17? 18?
By lower do you mean "more of everyone's bitch"? :P
Yes.
Hyo and Sunny have sported . . . half cornrows? A patch of cornrows? They both can pull them off, I think, since they can both carry attitude.
The fans weren't happy to see Nicole usurped as the maknae, lol. Ah, Reina, such a diva. I love how Sayumi and Nakazawa were calling her out for having center privilege on 007.
Hyunah needs to class it up. It makes me uncomfortable to watch her sometimes.
You realize this means that your next ranking NEEDS to be the "SNSD's bitches" ranking, right? (windbells/xiao_baka already did an seme-->uke rating, though)
Pre-debut it was definitely the seniority order except for badass Sunny and neutral Seohyun doing their own thing: Sooyoung-->Hyoyeon-->Jessica-->Yoona-->Yuri-->Taeyeon-->Tiffany
Post-debut is trickier. Maybe Seohyun(ON TOP HAHAHAHA)-->Hyoyeon-->Sooyoung/Sunny-->Yoona-->Jessica-->Taeyeon-->Yuri-->Tiffany The Hyoyeon-->Sooyoung/Sunny seems negotiable. Hyoyeon definitely would have more authority in the dorm, but at the same time the SilverTongues are probably always teasing her. I'm also not sure about Taeyeon's place.
Yuri also had partial cornrows in the IDB practice room footage(and it was <3). I don't think I've ever seen a H!Per sport partial cornrows that I didn't like either.
I think the problem with HyunA is her babyface. Compared to Minzy's dancing she's sexy-weaksauce, but because Minzy is always sporting an incredible FIERCE FACE >:| it doesn't feel as pedo. That said, all the more reason for more HyoGahee. Show them how it's done!
Pre-debut it was definitely the seniority order except for badass Sunny and neutral Seohyun doing their own thing: Sooyoung-->Hyoyeon-->Jessica-->Yoona-->Yuri-->Taeyeon-->Tiffany
But that's not the seniority order, lol: Jessica-->Hyo-->Syoung-->YuRi/YoonA (I think Yul came first?)-->Taeng/Fany (not sure here either)-->SeoHyun as everyone's dongsaeng/Sunny as the newbie wild card
I think it's too hard to create a scale that everyone fits on comfortably. It's much easier to break it down to pairings and determine who would be what in each instance. SooYoung is pretty good at rounding everyone up though from all reports.
I don't remember Yul's hair in the IDB practice room, lol. I think I remember her having them in a performance, so that must've been the same day.
HyunAh needs something. Something that doesn't leave you feeling like you need to go wash your hands or something.
I tried to fill it out myself, but came up with a bunch of "...um, I have no idea"s starting with Taengsic, lol. Sooyoung and Sunny were dominating, though, and Tiffany was getting owned, as expected.
TaengSic is probably pretty equal, with Sica perhaps being someone who would more naturally throw her weight around while TaeYeon is more about bringing about a harmonious resolution.
Fany can be pretty much everyone's bitch for lots of reasons depending on who it is and what's the situation. She can also go from pwning to be pwned really quickly, i.e. go from bossy unni to being pranked by a dongsaeng.
