*hands tissues* Ugh, I often get sick when I fly and I hates that! I've never tried taking all those preventative things . . . maybe I should, lol.

LOL, I reread my description and I see that it was really unclear. XD

I don't think anything's been confirmed. Rumors are flying around that the album (possibly a mini?) will drop this month but that seems stupid-crazy. But SM could be stupid-crazy. It would kind of make sense if you think about how they're having so many ups and downs with their other groups (well, the boys) that they need to get their moneymakers out there, but it seems just neglectful and foolish to send out girls who probably feel half dead.

I think it was styling. Though why Taeng styled it like that is beyond me. Maybe she wanted to see the reactions instead of going the drastic route that YoonA did? YoonA really regretted cutting her hair, lol.

I would be a little surprised to see YuRi do an actual solo. She's starred in MVs, but that's different from singing. But then again, she's done a lot of solo stage covers. . . . But I'm not sure she's really got the appeal for it. It's one thing to physically perform and another to have to sell on the audio of a song, which is where the vocal line really is strong. Hrm. I'm not sure.

If SeoHyun doesn't release something, anything, I'd be completely surprised. I will be delighted if she releases a piece that she accompanies herself on piano. <3

If "Oh! Brothers" works out, SooYoung might have more of a spot on a variety show. I get the feeling she's having a hard time finding work in the acting department.

No one ever knows what's going on with YoonA until it happens, lol.

Thing is I did take Airborne! And ate yogurt (my brother loved to steal mine xP) and all that jazz. Aish. I think it was more the change in weather. Going from 80 to 40/50s can mess up an already tired body I guess.

*sigh* With all that's been going on, I think SM really will do that. And with all the comebacks and debuts, SM will probably feel like they need SNSD in the mix instead of out of it, competing for the top spot and all.

I'm surprised Yoona didn't wear extensions more - Sica and Fany are the ones who come to mind in terms of extensions, though it wasn't until near the end of the year that others started to as well. Taeng looks cute with this style, but it makes her look way too young O_o I was commenting before on how much her beauty had grown, but now, it's not like she's ugly, but she's back to kidleader!Taeng instead of just leader!Taeng xP

It's gonna be hard for Yuri to go the sexy singer/dancer route because she's got some stiff competition. The "Womanizer" routine with Gahee and Hyuna comes to mind where I think Yuri was overshadowed by Gahee (though, one could site exhaustion but even then...).

If Seohyun releases something where she plays piano and sings, I will scream. Not even joking. And if they really want to blow my mind, let it be something composed/written by her. I wouldn't know what to do with myself O_O!

I really want Sooyoung to act. Pouting forever.

I was just reading that SNSD history thing! I haven't yet watched that vid about that person's opinion of how SNSD should be 5 but holy fried bananas Batman, that's quite a bit of changes. Interesting who was steady throughout. Looking at songs, I think the first album probably would've worked regardless of the line-up but I think "Gee" was special because the final 9.

Welcome back!

I'm surprised that Yoona didn't wear extensions more too, since she publicly (if tactfully) acknowledged that long hair makes her the iconic SNSD poster girl more popular. Maybe she's not that threatened by it?

As for Yuri, she has one thing that gahee doesn't: youth. People will be more willing to see her as an Idol, because you want to root for the up-and-coming star (who's got age on her side), as opposed to respecting gahee because she's talented and she's been in the bidness for so darn long.

I'm a bit uneasy about Sooyoung going on variety shows, because they tend to take her gag instincts too far, and it doesn't help her image as much as the appearance on the show should. Let her sing an easy/nice trot song, SM, on these shows, instead of just doing impressions! Home shopping is v fresh and funny, but her recent appearance on Star King left a bad taste on my mouth, because she seems to be vulnerable to being made fun of. It could be me reading too much into things, but perhaps her loudmouth personality invites squashing from hosts who think female guests should either be pretty lambs or unattractive gag women--see how they like taking down Gyuri a peg or two too. (They could have asked Sunny to sing, but Sooyoung had to sing I Have a Lover instead. Worst possible choice for a merely-slightly-above-average vocalist!)

I loved how Gee had a signature move for all the members, and how they tried to replicate it with Genie--one of my fav gif clips is from Champagne, where they all reproduce their sig moves in Gee. There's a second gif clip during Champagne promotions where they show the differences between Gee and Genie signature moves. Squee central, I tell you. (I never liked aegyo, until Gee hit, and I don't think I ever quite returned to sanity. Aegyo+crack funniness from their reality/variety show appearances+the occasional WOW! stages made me a fan.=x)

LOL, HTML fail. XD Quick comment is quick. (Forgive any egregious typos.)

Or maybe she just thought extensions would look weird, as some of the members did indeed look. She mostly wears her hair pretty straight too, which tends to emphasize that you're wearing extensions. It's grown more now, but nowhere near the glorious length that made fans long to touch it.

I will quietly sit in my corner of admiring older women. Especially fierce!older women.

The Star King segment gave me secondhand embarrassment for SooYoung. I was like, "Oh, they just humiliated her next to an 11-year-old. And then they made her look bad being annoyed with the upstart." I do think SooYoung is vulnerable to teasing. She's so snarky herself that she paints a target on her back.

Individual signature moves? I always got the impression it was more like how each approached "cute" and "fierce"? Have I been blind in my watching of these choregraphies? Or do you mean the move each gets to do while she sings her line in "Gee" while she's front and center?

Aegyo and I still don't mix very well for the most part, lol.

Yup, the move each girl does front and center would be signature moves, I call 'em.

wrt admiring fierce mature women: Yes, but you're a mature rational fan. Almost an oxymoron. We're all horangs here, which means we're all what, 24 this year? (Unless one of us here is 12. Or 36. Or 48.) Most fans...aren't. Or if they're mature males in korea...you get my drift. They might want gahee to be on i dunno, a soju bottle, but it's always easier to have youth on your side, I think, because you can do perky!ads (or start off with them, at least) and smouldering make-babies ads, if you get mah drift. More room for manouevring (sp?)

My point was that, before SNSD, aegyo and I were strangers. After SNSD, I like it but only from SNSD. Or maybe it's just the lethal combination of Tiffany and Sunny in the group. The rest of the girlgroups can do it, and I'll go "oh, good try! Nice one! Giving you props for that, girl!" When SNSD does it, my mind shuts down and I go "dawwwwwwww." Even when it's Taeng looking dorkily embarassed after she does it, which is why I like even her brand of you-gotta-be-asking-the-wrong-person kind of aegyo.

*raises hand* I'm a 12-year-old boy!

XDDDD

/crack

Also, Gahee on a soju bottle or a "make-babies" ad. That would dangerous to the max. O_O!

PUHAHAHA! Good one :D

Err, I meant a sexy sort of ad that had her giving bedroom eyes, not a procreate-for-society sort of family ad. Sorry, wasn't clear enough!

You have no idea xP

No, I knew what you meant XD Now I need to keep my eyes out for any kind of CF Gahee does!

I think Yul is a walking "procreate-for-society" ad.

Yes, but you're a mature rational fan. Almost an oxymoron.

I'm beginning to think that it's just that fans need a place to bring their thoughts, not that they don't exist--or in good numbers! Silent readers are silent; sometimes it takes a bit of encouragement to invite them into the conversation.

Maybe she's not that threatened by it?
I guess not. And though she doesn't like it, management might have a reason for not letting her wear extensions? But then she wore 'em later so I've no idea anymore xP

Yuri vs Gahee: Very true, even though Gahee's still young, in the idol world, she's old. I think they were calling BEG "adult idols" and they've not yet hit their 30s (about to, yes, but haven't yet!).

You pinpointed exactly how I feel about Sooyoung sometimes when she's on variety shows! People like her because she's outspoken but some people think it's too much; but also, because she's so outspoken, it encourages people to "bite" back so ... hrmph. I like her just the way she is goshdarnit. (I still have to watch Star King though, but I'm hesitant now because of what happened to Sooyoung D:)

I remember that part of Champagne! It was really interesting, the differences, and also which members were able to really take on that sexy persona. I very much love how each girl does something to make themselves stand out! You wouldn't believe how much I squee'd over just a 2 second change when they were officially promoting TMYW XDD

Aegyo is fun XD I'm always amused by Sunny's aegyo (I totally laughed when Fany kicked Sunny during her demo of "A.M.P" XD) and Sica's still fail aegyo XD

wrt "signature moves" (my term which I'm sticking to :D), I think T-ARA caught on to that, and tried to make BO PEEP BO PEEP have some of that goodness, except that I don't quite feel it from them. I hope it's not my SNSD-bias, because I was feeling some good stuff from Lies and Time to Love, but Bo-Peep has too much going on, and I feel like the individual cutesy moves are buried underneath a whole layer of fake sweet whipped cream. I just can't buy it, and I can't believe Bo Peep won mutizens/kchart awards! (I'd rather TTL or Good Person did.) Groan. Tired of Waiting and Because of You are so much better too.

I love the fany-kicking moment, because it displayed how...close these girls are. They're proud of Sunny's aegyo, I think, and they pimp it too, though they shudder whenever it's produced/used on them. And they can joke about their reactions to it. Loved loved loved that little moment on Sang Sang Plus. (And Sunny's display? Classic professionalism!)

Oh dear god, can we not talk about that song? *cringes* Aish. I can't watch it or listen to it.

"Because of You" is a better song. "Tired of Waiting," though I love the song to bits, hasn't impressed me in the live stages - choreo isn't anything iconic like "Again & Again" and, sorry boys, the live singing is not good at all.

I love when the girls are comfortable enough on shows to play around like that <3 I think my favorite of Sunny's aegyo was during that ... oh man, I forget what it's called, but they had a bunch of other women from other countries there too, and Sunny was told to try her aegyo on Sica and Sica was like, gonna hit her XD Oh hey, I know you ship JeTi, but do you have a favorite member?

Well, as a SNSD fan, I have an excuse to "monitor" what other groups are doing :D I have suffered through their mubank/core/inki lives, and all I can say is, the girls looked embarassed at the start, have settled for wringing this song for what it's worth, and the last performance had them in slightly saner outfits--bit of leopard print, animal ears, and gloves. Going into sexier and saner costuming now, perhaps. I have to admit that the first performance had me gaping in shock, and nearly refering to it on my facebook status (which is the marker of Something Big in Fandom, heh). As my korean friend said on first view of their first live outfits --blazers, frilly tutus, bob tails, ugly tights AND big animal paws--"mal do andweh!" ("that doesn't make any sense!")

You know which ad is uber cute? The banana milk one! Whether behind the scenes or in the ad itself, the girls are so adorkable, and sunny gives some major aegyo in that ad.

Err, I liked Tiffany first, but she and Jessica are comfortably ensconced in No.1 spot in my heart now. If I really had to choose between say, meeting one or the other...it'd be Tiffany. Simply because I loved her first :D Plus, I love me a bubbly cali girl, and I want to huggle her more than Jessica. Just a little bit more. Yuri and Hyo bring up the rear tying at no 3, because Yuri's self-consciousness sometimes strikes me as being off, which left a spot for Hyo to creep in :D

That's good! Every now and then I look at what other groups are doing, but it's mostly the boy bands lately XD I just couldn't stand "Bo Beep" when I first heard it. I mean, cute songs are nothing new to me, but combined with the live it was just ... painful -_-;

I love the banana milk! It was so perfect, using the girls they did XD I loved when they randomly started singing it in Hello Baby~

According to fan accounts (namely Soy's), Tiffany seems like such a fun girl to chat with XD It's no wonder she has such a plethora of friends. Yuri suddenly getting self-conscious is surprising - there was an episode of We Got Married and ... gosh darnit, I can't remember his name ... the news anchor guy (?) had visited Taeng, Hyungdon, Sica, Yuri and Sunny and Yuri was super giggly and everything. I know they'd talked on Champagne about how Yuri does a complete 180, but I was a bit taken aback to see it actually happen.

"MiSuDa"/"Global Talk with Beauties" or something like that. I've never been clear on the title. There was also an LOL moment in that episode when Hyo was like, "Our Tiffany is teaching choreography . . ."
