spread the love--and the work, SM
Thao with The Get Down Stay Down because AfterEllen.com has again led me to music that makes my ears happy and I figured I should start this post with some Enjoyable Things.
Because when I see a comment like, "One question though - why so little Tiffany? D:" about the Chocolate 30" CF, I just want to go, "Really? REALLY?" Or, you know, when people say, "Hey, we're seeing more Hyo on variety shows these days" or "We're seeing more Hyo now than before" I kind of want to laugh and point out that it's really not that hard to have "more" appearances than say one or two or none at all. Granted, Hyo has only recently really overcome her camera shyness and thus avoided being so edited out of even all-SNSD appearances.
Yet let me point out how tired Sunny must have been when they were shooting the Chocolate CF. I spotted her making more dance mistakes than there should be able to fit in a 30" clip. This is understandable because she's been guest-spotting on TaeYeon's show once a week, hosting The M, participating in all the press conference and filming stuff for the new girl group show she and YuRi will be on, has been attending all the same CF shootings and performances that the others have been, and appeared in a bunch of the Chuseok specials--and fans know now that Sunny isn't one of the stronger dancers when it comes to learning choreography.

You know, SM. With a 9-member girl group that has two members who are arguably sitting on their asses without activities aside from the group ones that all 9 members are running themselves ragged doing anyway (new album prep, regular practices), you might want to, I don't know, maybe spread the work out? I had the same thought when I saw how much work SooYoung did for the Chuseok specials. They couldn't have lessened the burden by giving a member who wasn't doing much of anything some of the work *coughHyocough*? Part of it has to do with demand but I have to imagine that some of the shows was just networks inviting SM to send SNSD and SM could choose which members to send.
And before someone accuses me of just being ~~jealous~~ of all the other girls and their fans, I have to say HELL YES, I'm jealous! I want to have just as many opportunities to spazz as you, the diehard fans of the other members, do! I'm jealous on Hyo's behalf because she doesn't show that she cares that she doesn't get as much. I'm not hating on the other girls when I say these things. I just think that there's so much work that it's not only possible for all of it to be spread evenly, but it's probably even logical or desirable at this point. Some members are working to the point that I'm wondering if they need some pick-me-ups to help them get through a day. Hyo's not even getting scraps from the table at this point.
*sigh*
But to end with happy thoughts, because I usually try to restrain some of my annoyance and cynicism, I wonder if all of Hyo's oppa friends are like Kang JunYoung, who leaves some of the cutest and sweetest messages on Hyo's cyworld. He's asked her to go exercise (with him, I assume), to come talk to him when she goes to the SM offices (he's currently an SM trainee who, according to HyoYeonJjang who provides awesome translations of pretty much all things Hyo, was supposed to debut with Super Junior but was replaced with Ryeowook), excitedly wanted to share some "big news" with her in the recent past, and now: 필요할때 언제든 저에게 전화하세요 도움이되어드릴테니ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ [Anytime/Whenever you have a need, call me, I will help you kekekekekekeke]. How is that not awesomely cute? He signs his comments to Hyo as "a really good oppa." . . . I'd approve of him if they ever hooked up. (I suspect Hyo has a really big circle of oppa friends--I'd be more surprised if she didn't, having spent so many years at Winners in a dance genre that's pretty male-dominated.)
JYP's Park KiJun is pretty damn awesome, too. I think he's closer friends with Hyo's former Little Winners partner Lee MinYoung but he's also often leaving notes for Hyo in her cyworld that show his support for SNSD's new songs. Around TMYWG's release, he let Hyo know that it was awesome. Hyo fans will probably recognize him from this this picture, as he looks on at Hyo admiring Min's assets. I always do wonder if Hyo has had her fair share of suitors or if guys tend to feel like she's one of the boys. Gr, why no real interaction on shows 2PM's Junsu and Hyo? I mean, he's a celebrity that could be asked to reveal things on this subject! But with the way they kind of skip and dance around each other, you'd think they hardly know each other well enough for him to have thanked her in 2PM's album while teasing her for forgetting him in her thanks to!
