[fic] BoP: Sweet Surrender

Jan 24, 2007 02:25

Fandom: Birds of Prey
Rating: R/NC-17 for adult situations
Words: 1960
Notes: This is kind of... dark. Inspired by listening to too much of Sarah McLachlan's "Sweet Surrender" (DJ Tiesto mix, I believe). Dashed out really quickly, but if I decide I like it enough, I might edit it--I'm sure there are typos. D:

Dark, dark, dark!
What was Helena thinking? Did she actually answer Dinah's question? “Do you love her?”

Putting it on the page actually made it seem less dark than how it was in my head. ... Probably because it's a lot more graphic in my head.

Honestly? I could give you my answers to your questions... but that wouldn't be as fun. =D

Thanks, merf. I'm not sure it should be required reading, though--it's actually really dark in tone for any BoP fic, which as a comic series usually tries to stay somewhat lighthearted.

I dont see this as dark...I guess the sensual aspect lends an edge to it..but in my mind not dark.
I would say it has an honesty to it..or a better word it has grit...

and it reads fast...the tempo..like decending a firemans brass pole.

*nods* I wouldn't argue that; it's darker in my head, I think, because there's an underlining of darkness to it when I picture it happening.

and it reads fast...the tempo..like decending a firemans brass pole.

That is the most interesting and unexpected analogy to describe a story's pacing that I've ever heard.

lol..well I am an extremely visual person..and in my head..thats how the tempo flowed.

and as to the darkness..I think it comes from the raw honesty of Helenas intent.
