Runaways #22
The crack that is scans_daily has scans up of Runaways #22, and all I can say is AHHHHHHH! (Plus, Oh, God, why is BKV leaving?) I haven't read the whole issue yet, but:
Wait. Okay, so Chase is becoming an evil adult (for the sake of Gert, who, wherever she is, is going D: now, I hope), but... um... Nico being the most innocent person he knows? Really? More innocent than Molly? More innocent than Karolina? Granted, Molly is sharper than she lets on, but she's also the youngest and the only one of them who has been shown to really regret losing their parents. And Karolina might still be weebly over her sexuality and image issues (actually, there's been little indication that she's uneasy about these things anymore--the real question now is her relationship with Xavin and how that'll work out. Everyone has been commenting on Xavin's non-answer to Molly's question about why (s)he chooses to be in male form most of the time, but what I found interesting was Karolina's comment: "Um, see you later? This you [female form], I hope?" This is kind of the first indication of Karolina's being kind of aware of Xavin's preference for the male form--and now I've really digressed), but "'Lina Bean" (lol) is one of the most passive aggressive members. She doesn't like fighting, but does it more or less out of necessity with an air of resignation. I even had to smile a bit when I saw that in the game of Risk, she had been knocked out hours ago--military strategy is apparently not her thing. They're all shades of ignorance and naivety, but I'm not sure I'd peg Nico as the most innocent. I'd like to know if Chase chose her because he's least attached to her? Or maybe it's a little bit malicious grudge since her kissing him had led up to his break up with Gert before her death. =( And... he's using the Staff of One again. The last time he used it, it had him on his knees vomiting or really nauseous and he pretty much said, "Never again" since it's been implied that the Staff of One requires or feeds off of negative experiences/emotions.
And in case you didn't get it: Nico is a ho. Even her subconscious is trying to tell her that!
In other news, I am lame and have forgotten the password to my AIM account, so my plans to sign on using the school computer was a complete failure. D:
