Neither can I. She hurts my soul. Everything she is now seems to contradict everything that happened at the end of Batgirl. Honestly, though, she and Barbara had such an... almost mother-daughter mentorish relationship. In the strange Bat family, Babs was always the one rooting for Cass' emotional development and she was the one who was willing to clash with Bruce over how to deal with Cass. There's even the Batgirl issue where Cass actually says Babs has been like a mother to her. I'd love to see them meet, but I don't think any of the current writers could pull it off in a satisfactory manner at the moment. Even when Simone wrote Cass I shuddered (ugh, those few panels where Cass spoke not only normally but quite articulately). Oh, Cass, why did they have to bastardize you and make you a whiny brat?

Aha! I was just thinking about the Lazarus pit this week..of what it might heal...

but that would be an easy way out

but it would be one hell of a story...talk about angst.

but I am not dangling anything in front of you..I was just reveling in the ultra character introspective that would be...Barbara..thinking..wondering..all the what if's.

Oh, Barbara has had a chance at a Lazarus Pit. Only at the time, Dinah had needed it more. They've already dangled the prospects before us in canon. =D

Honestly, as far as anyone can tell, DC is damned if they keep her in the chair, damned if they take her out of it. I wonder if they would even know how to deal with her character if they gave her legs again.

well DC wouldnt go into ..really what would be going through her head...

and they would have to have a damn good storyline to give her her legs back

Actually, speaking of Barbara's legs and now that I remember it, she did get them temporarily restored for a time. And she was so happy--huge grin on her face as she went hurtling out of a window and started falling several stories--even while she realized that it was only temporary (she was "healed" by a miracle child and knew the effects wouldn't last). They never really addressed the issue, though. I've always wondered if she told Dinah since Dinah wasn't around to see Babs walking during that crazy adventure. I believe it was written by one of the "interim" writers as I like to think of them as, between Chuck Dixon leaving and Gail Simone taking up the book.
