[Prologue and Chapter One] [Chapter Two]

Chapter Three

Aoi stood awkwardly in the middle of Kai's homey looking office. He hung his head, a headache beginning to form at the back of his skull.

“Aoi,” he heard Kai's quiet voice break the awkward silence, “you can sit down.” Aoi stared at him dumbly for a minuet and Kai nodded his head to the comfy looking arm chair placed in front of the desk. Sighing Aoi let his legs lead him over to the chair and sit.

“Okay lets get down to business.” Kai said shuffling through his papers on his desk. “You have been charged with involuntary manslaughter and assault....and whatever else that angry family can think of pinning on you.”

“Wait-assault what for?” Aoi said looking confused.

“For hitting the dad. You dislocated his jaw you know.” Kai said giving him a serious look.

“Hey now he--”

“I know I know, he started it. But you hit back and caused more damage to him then he to you. AND you killed his child, any court would over look that he started it.” Kai curtly cut him off.

Leaning forward on the table Aoi placed his head in his hands feeling his headache intensify. “Is there anyway I can get out of serving time in jail?” He asked his voice shaking.

“There is a very slim chance, you will have to plead guilty and show remorse.” Kai said his gaze softening into a more sympathetic look.

Aoi could feel tears starting to make their way down his face, leaving salty and sticky trails in their wake. “I am remorseful” he hiccuped.

Around 4:30 Aoi stumbled back into his and Uruha's shared apartment tired and emotionally spent. It felt as thought he had cried more then work to solve the problem in Kai's office. Kai being the kind and good friend he was let him and tried comforting him as best as he could.

It felt cold and lonely in his apartment right now. He knew without to much thought that Uruha wasn't here. Hanging his jacket up he went and turned the tv on just for the sake of background noise, maybe it would help relive some of his loneliness. Moving lethargically to the kitchen his suspicions where confirmed: Uruha had left a not tacked to the refrigerator.

It read:

Aoi,

I'm going to stay over at Reita's for a few days.

Uruha

That was all it said. No explanation as to why he was going over to Reita's just that he was.

Feeling anger boiling up inside him he ripped the note off the refrigerator and ripped it apart. Gripping it in his hand he pounded his fist into the white counter top. “FUCK!” he yelled feeling an intense pain go up the tendons in his arm. Growling angrily he sat down and cradled his hand to his chest.

Why would Uruha leave in the time he needed him the most?

Why?
