So sorry it's been so long since I posted anything on here. Shit has happened.
On the 15th May, I rode my friend from uni's rather large 18 hand horse (who ironically I'd rode in February and on the Friday and Saturday), with a helmet and back protector on (THANK GOD) and fell off. I got a head injury and was taken by helicopter ambulance to hospital.
Well, I spent the next two months a mixture of being absolutely drugged up to my eyeballs, in a coma and in a hospital bed. I remember nothing from about four weeks before the accident, all the way through and I have no recollection of the really drugged up stage, but I got moved to my local hospital after a month and about a week into that, I start remembering.
I got released from the hospital near the beginning of July, moved home and it seemed SO GOOD, just a bit of normality was fabulous after being in hospital! We got ourselves a rescue dog (which I have been trying to persuade them to do since primary school, but apparently you need to whack your head on the floor too) and went for a week's holiday, just in Somerset because I'm not allowed to fly for a year, and she had the time of her life. She loves the sea.
I recently had my 19th birthday and am currently doing pretty well, doing some swimming and walking. I'm going back to uni next October and starting from scratch, give myself a year to get over everything, but I've already got some plans for my year, so far I've got two days a week at my vets planned and the vet's been an angel to me - he came and visited me in hospital. I'm making work experience my priority for the year and when I get completely physically with it I will be looking for a paid job as well to give myself a bit of a hand with the six years of student loan I will now end up with!!
So, with regard to fandom, I missed like the season finales of almost everything, and all the big stuff that went on, so I'm still catching up, getting there slowly. I caught up with Castle. WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?
Anyway, I'm doing ok. It's not great, I'll be two years behind every friend I made this year, but so many doctors etc have said I could have died, so I'm just being grateful for being alive. Hope everything's been going well for everyone.
glw :)
