A thought..

OK, I read on here before about Shonda thinking of a possible storyline for Cristina that included her having a past romantic history with women. I even read about them doing casting calls for a past love interest (female) for Cristina to enter sometime during season 3. Obviously, that never happened. With Burke gone for good now and Cristina ( Read more... )

ehh...after her whole history with burke, it will be kind of hard to sell cristina being into women. i don't think it would be too weird, it's been done on tv before and shonda will have to work hard to keep it fresh and interesting.

um..why would a more recent heterosexual relationship negate the plausability of her having a history or potential future with women?

only because it would come out of nowhere show-wise. if shonda did have a woman from cristina's past show up, it would be a lot more believable. it would seem to me like they were trying too hard if cristina were to be bisexual with no history surrounding it. nothing has been hinted about regarding cristina's sexuality.

i dunno. if you wanted to get hyperanalytical i've seen some discussion of potential lesbian undertones to some of cristina's actions, and even her relationship with meredith. not saying that i myself think they're there, but anything can appear to be hinted at with the right spin on the past.

they totally dropped it because they were mad about it leaking, and made the character who was originally going to be Cristina's female ex into her male ex who was the candidate for Chief.

LAME. Only because it seems like they're out of ideas, not because it seems implausible. Besides, why does it have to be Cristina, the edgy female?

except it wouldn't have been because they were out of ideas because they were thinking about it in the 2nd season, so it wouldn't be them trying to revitalize the show now. but I did think it was stupid that it was "Cristina, the edgy female", like you said (though I guess I would maybe prefer that to the show only having straight women?)

True, they do only have straight women, so they should probably address that if they want to make that an issue, but it just seems forced to me. Like what if they decided that McDreamy was bisexual? Would viewers buy it? Seems a little out of character. Introduce a lesbian character--if anything, if gives them a chance to bring a new actor on set.
Or, because I'll miss Addison, bring her back as a lesbian. Just kidding. Sort of.

maybe they can make Mer's sister a lesbian, instead of having some dumb triangle with McDreamy?
I would totally buy it if McDreamy was bisexual, I don't really think it would be out of character unless it was someone who was really open about their straight sexual history, and Cristina's so guarded we obviously wouldn't have known. When the spoiler first leaked, it was that it was either Addie or Cristina, so I was especially annoyed about how it was one of the 2 "edgy" women.

that has 'really awesome storyline' potential. i would be down for it. in fact, a storyline like that would probably completely reawaken my interest in this show. 'cause, srsly, i need a reason to keep watching.

I agree, I may just replace GA with Kate's show and leave it at that. :)

I think that storyline would be ridiculous. ESPECIALLY after her break down in the season finale. It would seem completely forced.

well, not if they waited till later in the season. denny died in S2, and then izzie and george had their thing near the end of S3.

if the writers can do that, they can certainly swing this, i think.

Yes and no, solely because the Izzie situation was much different. In her particular case, she went running to her best friend. She didn't change sexual interests all of the sudden.

I think a bisexual Christina is pushing it.

true, but i don't think it would be changing sexual interests all of a sudden if she's bisexual. if she's had a history with men and women, i'm sure it'll be played like that - not her being all, 'oh, look, i like women now!'
