I think the worst part of the Swastika is that it used to mean good things to the people who used it (Navajo, maybe?) but they don't use it any longer because the Nazis ruined it.

I've read it as being akin to say, the U.S. use of the bald eagle as a symbol of freedom, bravery, etc. If some crazy regime used the bald eagle and made the world fearful of the symbol.

Anyway, end rant. =)

I'm not fond of the connotation myself and the icon gave me a twitch, but to each their own. I just presume the icon-user knows that they'll be associated with negative sentiments, but if that doesn't bother them, c'est la vie.

Wow, guys. I didn't use the icon to start a opinion war, and I certainly don't mean to promote any sort of anti-semitism.
