I thought the Mer/Alex storyline dragged - it was obvious that it was leading to some 'moment' of sorts, but I like the little nods to the shows history (we all hated you, Izzie, George and that big ass tree, the reminder that Meredith grew up in that house). However, if this is really the start of giving Alex something to do other than regress, then I'm all for it.

I love Cristina Yang. I love that she wanted to compete with Mer for scariest boss, but was secretly pleased that the interns loved her too. I'm concerned regarding the cardio attending she's under though - how long before he forgets that he put her in charge of everything when something messes up, or worse, he pulls a Burke and doesn't give her credit when it's due.

NuLexie/Dr. Wilson is rather annoying, but so was Lexie initially. Also annoying, April. I wish that she had another reason for her dissonance about sleeping with Avery, because while I think the religion reason is legit, I don't like how it came out of nowhere for her character and now that's all she can talk about. But I like that Avery kept leaving in the middle of her rants.

I feel like the Chief doesn't have much to do until Debbie Allen visits.

Bailey/Arizona - I like they have these characters interacting, because Bailey is good at coaxing productivity out of people (Izzie post Denny, Cristina post shooting, Derek on a number of occasions). In fact, I love that (in shades of season 4) that Callie followed her example to inspire herself and Derek.

And Derek was an adult for once! He did not blame Callie for his hand! I am shocked.

In my utterly nonprofessional opinion, I don't think Seattle Grace can be more at fault than the airline. However, I also thought that Izzie should have lost her medical license at the end of Season 2, so what do I know.
