The scene in the tub was what inspired the post. She really made me take it seriously.
I really liked seeing Mark in this episode, and agree that it was a much more fitting goodbye for his character. It was nice to see Mark BE Mark, though it was kind of heartbreaking that Avery brought Sophia at that last second. Also, I didn't even remember the eye doctor, and it's nice that Shonda wrapped up that random loose end. Episode one felt more like what happens at a wake, you know, like reliving the happier memories while in the midst of the sadness.
I kind of wish we'd seen how Meredith reacted finding out about Lexie at the hospital, but that was covered in the woods. Zola was a welcome sight, I had almost forgotten about her until that point.
The laundry list Christina recited of terrible things that Mere's gone through at Seattle Grace Mercy Death made me think Mere must have developed enough resilience to not breakdown over this as well. We might be in for something, but that might be motivated by her ridiculous father or something.
I'm glad they didn't have Callie screw up Derek's surgery because of her being jolted by the news about Arizona. They've really gone up and down w/ Callie's character, having her go from confident to weak and back in the blink of an eye, and it would have really been f-ed up if they'd gone the Derek/Preston route with her (when Preston blamed Derek for his tremors.) But, I suppose there's still time for that...
Are Avery and April the only docs who haven't been patients yet?
Oh I hope they keep the actor that plays Thatcher too busy on Scandal to come back to GA. Also mentioning Mer's dad just reminded me that there is another Grey sister out there. I wonder if she will be on at all. I can see her being a nurse or something like that (this is just me speculating)
I'm happy about Callie too :) But this is Derek "high standards/everything is black and white" that we are talking about. Maybe he can go join Arizona in the bedroom and commiserate. Then they can also tag team yelling/blaming Callie for everything.
And how cute was Smash (do we know his character's name yet?) telling Derek all about the surgery?
Good point, the other Grey might be the trigger; assuming Thatcher's still a drunken mess, the other sister (Emily?) only really had Lexie, since their mom already died.
