Albion made my Del Tins gain weight!
I just handled the SWEET Albion blades at the Blade show...
They went and made my Del Tins heavy!
My Del Tins used to be light, like a feather, but somehow, the minute I picked up an Albion, the Del Tins gained weight!
How did that happen?
Honestly, I think I liked their single handers best, and my favorite was the Squire. (Not the squire line, the Squire next gen.) That was followed by the knight, no... wait, the Solingen Sword museum line was awfully nice in the hand. Not my 'style' so much as the squire and the knight, but an awfully well balanced peice.
As to the Squire, It was my favorite to look at and to handle, and I can't say if the joy of one spread to the other. (Damn them for charging what are likely very reasonable but too high for me prices!)
They did not have any squireline single handers.
For my personal predijudices, I will say I prefer single handers due to greater familiarity with sword and buckler/sheild styles, so I know much more about how they should feel, (not to mention a general preferance to shield styles for the usual reasons shield fighters list. )
Even so, the two handers were VERY nice. Much lighter then one would be inclinded to expect, but they still felt a little alien to me, since I am such a rank amature to long sword that they felt (To me) like a very fine tool you don't really know how to use. To someone who knows longsword, this would not have been the case.
The weapons 'feel' fragile... but that is VERY LIKELY just their high price talking to my subconcious, talking to my concious mind.
It said something like "Drop it and I shut the heart down, got that?" so don't take this opinion as gospel.
The Viking sword 'felt' point heavy to me, but I almost never pick those up anyway, so I won't say it didn't have the right balance. I don't really 'like' Viking swords so much. They aren't really my style weapon. I prefer something along the lines of well.... The Squire. The very sharp point gives it a very differnt feel in the hand, and one which I quite frankly prefer.
I really wish Angus Trim had been at the show, since I would have liked to look at his work.
Oh, I can't leave out meeting Micheal Tinker Peirce, Vince Evens, and getting a look at their work. Gorgous.
