Helping you write your fic: "suggestion posts"

Jun 14, 2008 14:46

Welcome to all participants in this year's Grey's Exchange! You have now received your assignments, and might be wondering what to write for your recipient. This post is here to help you.

We suggest that participants write a short entry to their journal, which includes some more detailed information about what you like in a fic, and what you might like to see in your gift-fic, then comment here with a link to that entry. That way, your writer can find your comment, and might get some extra ideas about what to write for you. This isn't mandatory but it does help a writer who might not know what you would like, and it might help YOU write for your participant.

If you do make a suggestion post, please remember that your assigned writer is not obligated to write specific requests. For instance, your post might indicate that you like Izzie and George to end up happily ever after. Your writer can write that if they choose to, but they don't have to. This is intended as a bit of a helping hand for them. Also, please make sure it's a public entry (you're not supposed to know who your writer is, and having a friends locked entry would make it a bit hard for them to see!) Once you have posted it, don't forget to comment here with a link to your post!

Writers might like to bookmark or track this post (tracking means lj will email you when someone posts a new comment here) so that they have it handy. Thanks everyone, and happy writing!
