PIC RANDOMLY RELATED

So, it's my mother's birthday on Friday and I can not decide whether or not it's a good idea to write her a poem as a present. I mean, I know it could be seen as a sweet gesture and all but I'm actually a practical kind of person (oh lol the irony) and I know that if it were me I'd rather have a present that I can use.

... but I'm kind of out of money, I don't know what novels my mother follows (except for SOIaF which we have and Eragon which I refuse to buy for her), and I bought her teddy bears for the past few birthdays/Mother's Days.

I asked plurk (f-locked BTW) whether or not I should go for it and got a unanimous yes, but I don't think you guys know how horrible I am at poetry. This is what I think to be my best so far:

Simmer

Hazy purple wind invading. A book bricked through a glass window. A child wipes drool from his cheek, waiting for today’s dessert. Never dinner. There is violence over a wrong math equation. Life teaches the tutor. Holes poked through cloth; a child still waiting for dessert. The scent of syrup and cream waft in the air. A yell tasted down the throat and sticks like phlegm. Berries crushed under a spoon. Did you do a good job is answered by Yes. Yes Yes. Lies always start out lavender. Poured too early on a plate, gelatin liquefies with the syrup. A fork through a strawberry, there is victory for the saccharine virus. The strawberry shimmers as the syrup’s still too hot. The boy salivates as the sugar coaxes. Down in a single bite. Tears come out when spit hides behind pride. A book bricked through a glass window because experience was the chosen teacher. Strawberries are vengefully sour. Awaited present turns punishment. A tongue too burnt to apologize tomorrow, a scalded dark purple.

... prose is kinda my thing so hello prose poetry I'm thankful you exist. This poem is also open to criticism and is to be workshopped this Friday.

But yeah, kinda... odd don't you think?

I'm sorry Mom. I'll buy you a house and lot or something someday. ;3;
