By the time Haley and Jordan arrived at the bar, the place was already crowded with people and the band was doing a sound check. The place wasn't upper class, but it was relatively nice for a bar, and still had a decent amount of room for a dance floor in front of the stage. "Maybe we should get a table," Haley sighed, leaning in close to Jordan's ear as they made their way in.
"Are you driving?" Haley nodded, and Jordan gave her a grin. "Then I'm doin' shots. So -- I think staying at the bar would be advisable."
Haley shook her head with a bit of a grin, before following her friend to the bar and settling on one of the stools. Jordan ordered a round of tequila, and Haley got a diet Coke.
"You know, just once? I'd like to see you drink something with an actual kick to it."
"I have wine with a good meal," she pointed out. "And a beer if I'm home and I don't have to drive. But I don't like hard liquor."
"Uh-huh," Jordan paused long enough to down one of the shots placed in front of her, flipping over the glass before looking

Ben had gone home quickly to change. He knew where the bar was because he happened to live in the next block. It was also easier to walk to the place afterward, a quick shower to get rid of the dust and sweat from racing before heading in.
He didn't see Haley at the bar due to the large amount of people, and he arrived after sound check and just as they were starting. Finally he just grabbed a beer from a passing waitress, put a few bucks on her tray and gave her a wink as he leaned against a pillar to listen to the band.
Soon he found himself closing his eyes, letting himself get into the music. Now he could see why Haley wanted him to come for the music. He had really gone for her, but the music wasn't half bad.
It wasn't long before Jordan was starting to feel the shots she was downing. She had always been a semi-lightweight, but she was a pretty cheerful drunk so most people put up with it. Tonight, the antics included singing along rather loudly to the music on stage. Once the first set was finished though, she started actually looking around, and that was when she spotted Ben standing against the pillar.
"Isn't that? Oh, my God, it's Camero Boy!" She grinned slightly, before raising her voice so that she was shouting over the crowd. "HEY! CAMERO BOY!"
Haley's eyes widened, before pulling her friend down so that she was sitting again. "What are you doing?"
"Getting the attention of a guy with a hot car, what does it look like I'm doing?"
Haley rolled her eyes. "You're drunk."
"Yes. I am drunk. And you know what, I might even get laid. Cutting lose is not such a bad thing. Social drinking is good. Getting laid is good. You need to get drunk and laid more often, maybe you wouldn't have such a stick up your ass.""Hey, I get

Ben heard "Camero Boy" and opened his eyes, then turned his head to look over the crowd. He saw Haley and a friend over at the bar and chuckled as the hushed discussion between them.
He made his way through the crowd easily and joined them, a small smirk on his face. "You called?" he asked the friend, smelling the tequila almost immediately, then looked over at Haley. "Nice seeing you again, Haley."
Jordan gave a not so discreet glance at her friend regarding the fact that Ben already knew her name, and Haley just buried a face in the hand of the arm resting on the bar. Jordan just grinned wider before, extending a hand to Ben. "Hi. I'm Jordan."
"Jordan, this is Ben Winchester. Ben, Jordan Blevins."
At the mention of the last name, Jordan's face suddenly got serious and she started to lean in a bit to look at him more closely, almost squinting as though she was trying to focus.
Jordan just watched him for another moment, considering quietly, before she slammed a hand down on the bar. "Absolutely! Bartender -- can we get another round? And -- a diet Coke for this idiot."
Haley rolled her eyes, before turning back to Ben. "How do you like the band?"
Ben looked over at the bartender, making eyes to give the girl a bit of water in her alcohol if he could, then paid attention to Haley's question. "They're pretty good. You can feel the emotions in their songs to let you know they mean what they are singing about, and not just something that another person wrote that they have no connection to. That means a lot in music."
"It does," she nodded. "I always prefer performers who write their own stuff. But that I wouldn't discount all performers that way though. There are some people who can really connect with the emotion of what they're playing, even if they didn't write it."
"So true," Jordan spoke up while she waited for her shots. "There is this stud of a piano player in New York City. Plays his heart out, every damn time. And you know, funniest thing, his name is Winchester too." Jordan was drunk, but she wasn't stupid. Sometimes, when she was drunk, her mind made connections that she wouldn't even think of making sober. It was an odd thing.
Haley, however, just looked at her like she had two heads. "Huh?"
Ben grinned. "Oh yeah, he's pretty good, but you didn't have to listen to him play the same things over and over growing up." He was very proud of his little brother, that's obvious.
"She's talking about my younger brother, Alec. He was gifted with the ability to pick up any instrument and let it sing almost immediately. He's studying out in NY getting his masters in music."
"Alec -- Alec Winchester. Oh, duh." Haley felt like an idiot for not putting together sober what Jordan could put together even drunk. Then there was a bit of a scoff as she shook her head. "Show off."
"Awww, now you're just jealous," Jordan teased. "Haley's a bit of a musical prodigy herself. Plus Columbia and Julliard share some of their music classes, so she's used to hearing people talk about him all the time." She shrugged. "Still doesn't change the fact that he's a stud when you put a piano in front of him. And not the way you're thinking, pretty boy."
Ben couldn't help rolling his eyes. "You realize that talking about my brother being a stud makes me want to tell embarrassing stories in order to protect my delicate ego, right?"
Haley laughed. "When Jordan says stud, she means that he's absolutely impeccable at whatever it is he does. She'll even call the electrician with a potbelly and a hairy back a stud if he manages to fix her surround sound."
"Yes. Besides, I'm painfully aware of the fact that he is completely and totally taken," Jordan sighed heavily as she took another shot. "Not that I blame her, really. I would nail him down if I had him."
"They are high school sweethearts, and you can't fit a sheet of paper between them. My mom is just waiting for the day he proposes. She's already started planning a wedding in her head with her mother. He's so doomed."
Jordan laughed. "All mothers are that way. I bet she'll do the same for you once that comes around. On the other hand, Haley's dad'll be too busy threatening the boy with a shot gun to worry about flower arrangements and locations for the reception."
"My dad is not that overprotective," Haley rolled her eyes. "He didn't give me too much grief about coming out here."
"I still maintain that you told him you were moving twelve hours away when he was laid up on morphine."
"My dad is the same way with my baby sister, so I know the feeling. And as for me, I'm not looking to settle down anytime soon. Won't complain if it happens, but I'm not the white picket fence kinda guy right now. Too much to do still before I become completely responsible."
"Are you driving?" Haley nodded, and Jordan gave her a grin. "Then I'm doin' shots. So -- I think staying at the bar would be advisable."

"Can I buy you ladies a round? I made out pretty well at the races, and I'd rather spend it on new friends than junk." He gave them both a grin.

Ben was his father's son, after all.
