My plans to spend Easter at a the house of a couple of good friends developed as follows:
- Received a call from my friends inquiring if I and my girlfriend would be interested in attending Easter dinner at their place
- Called my girlfriend to see if she was interested in going with me, left a message.
- Received call from my girlfriend, confirmed that she was interested, agreed on a time to meet up beforehand.
- Went over to Bella Napoli to pick up something, was looking for apple pie.
- Stood on line for a while, called my girlfriend to see what hours Hannaford was going to be open. My thoughts were that we should also bring ice cream so there can be Pie Ala mode(sp?)
- Picked up cherry pie (no apple pie left) and 12 mini-cannolis (just in case).
- Received call from my girlfriend, confirmed that Hannaford was open for a limited time on Easter to pick up ice cream.
- Wake up the next day, meet up to the girlfriend, pick up ice cream, and go over with LOTS of dessert choices.
And then after step 7 I got sick.... again.
I'd been feeling a little worn out and ache-y on Friday, but when I woke up yesterday it seemed like I had gotten it all out of my system.
Except it appears that I hadn't.
About 9pm, as I was settling down for a late dinner, I started feeling chills again as well as feeling extremely exhausted. That didn't make any sense since I'd gotten a full 8 hours of sleep. One thermometer reason showed that, in addition to my current symptoms, I was running a 101 fever.
So I ended up calling everyone up and canceled any plans I had for today and tomorrow to ensure that I'm fully recovered and non-contagious the next time I interact with other people. It was kind of frustrating but such is life.
Oddly enough, I've noticed that I have a tendency to get sick around holidays. I wonder if there's a scientific reason behind this.
