Furman goodness!

I had so much fun this weekend! Yay for Furman kids! It was really good to see everyone. This is going to sound corny, but I felt drunk with happiness the whole time I was there. I love being around my friends--I feel so loved and welcomed. I probably drove them crazy with all my hugging and saying "I love you", but I couldn't help it. It was bittersweet, though. I think Emily noticed me get quiet and withdrawn at one point... I started thinking about how this year will be over soon and we won't be able to have moments like this as easily. Everyone will go their separate ways and I'll be left behind again... Ha, okay, shutting up now. Here's what I did:

I drove down Friday afternoon and had a delicious dinner made by the amazing Meg, who I hadn't seen since I left Furman! I got to slice fruit and veggies! It was really good to see Adam and Scott again. After dinner we all trekked over to Daniel Hall to see Jen's senior recital. She was phenomenal! Wow. Afterwards all us Chiles Angels (including Isaac) acted crazy downstairs. Then we went back to Amy, Emily, and Rose's apartment. Curse possessives. I don't actually remember what we did that evening...

Saturday we went to Thaicoon for lunch, came back to The Apartment (haha), hung out, went to Heather and Marika's to eat cookies (they had a cookie-baking party and it was EXCELLENT), then went out to dinner at Wild Wings. I was supposed to go out with Shanna that night, but the Furman kids said no, you have to come play drunken Nertz with us, so we drove by the bar where Shanna was so I could apologize and ask for a rain check. Then we went back to The Apartment and played drunken Nertz. OMGosh, fun! I think I did five (or six?) shots... mostly vodka, but I think also rum and tequila, ew. Emily and I kicked ass as a team! I got pretty drunk. After Ames almost killed Katie we sort of stopped playing cards and mostly ended up on the floor laughing and taking weird pictures. Finally Ames started kicking people out and I went back with Marika and her boyfriend, Zach, to her apartment so she could give me a present she'd gotten me in South Africa. It's this tiny tiny lizard made of wire and it's super adorable and perfect. Heather and Rev came back while I was there so we all piled on the couch and listened to Rev tell stories. Then I ran back to the girls' apt and crashed. I like running when I'm drunk. I bet I look ridiculous, but I feel fast and loose. Haha.

Sunday I had brunch with Andrea at Stax's (amazing French toast!) and then hung out with Amy most of the afternoon. I finally left for Burnsville (didn't get lost in Asheville, yes!) and had a home-cooked meal for the first time in ages. Soooo good. I played Clue with Kelsey and Lydia after dinner, then imported songs onto my laptop after they went to bed. On Monday we had an interesting day because the main water pipe or something in downtown B-ville had busted, so we didn't have running water all day. I played Clue all morning with the girls, and after lunch we played outside with the dog and pretended we were running a summer camp and generally just goofed around in the woods. It was really relaxing. I meant to wash my car, but there was no water... Sad times. I left later than I meant to and yelled to Three Days Grace on the drive back to Cullowhee. I stopped for dinner at Taco Bell and started reading Ender's Game. Um... then I got back to Western and typed this up!

I have to go unpack and get started on my homework. Did I mention that I saw a counselor last week and I have an appointment next Friday to meet with a group about being addicted to the internet? We'll see how it goes. Later, friends!
