*waves* Felicitations! It's a new week, which I'm rather excited about, because last week for some reason bordered on "do over" status (at least Monday and Tuesday did). This one is looking much better!
Yesterday was quiet, and after settling my crisis-of-my-own-doing of... not-so-epic proportions, things have settled down here at work, and I'm managing to work through my backlog of projects. (However, I have now somehow managed to lose a tape of footage through my flailing and general chaos. WTG, Grey. It has been found! *phew* Not losing my mind.)
I have started writing again, with a big thanks to
sgatazmy for the write-offs and letting me bounce ideas off of her. Although it is going at an agonizingly slow pace. I swear, it's like trying to bleed a stone (at least on this particular story). My goal is to have it done by the end of the month, so... we'll see. Probably a little ambitious. Perhaps I shall be spending some quality time with
Write or Die.
After it, though, I get to write my story for
sga_genficathon, and I'm rather excited about that. Right now I have two wildly different story ideas battling for control. I'm thinking I'll write them both, and save whatever one needs more polishing for bonus time. (Everybody wins!)
(I also really need to learn to wake up early so I can do all of this writing then. Why do I like sleep so?)
I have also discovered Task Lists within Gmail, and lo, it was love. I've now got a list of all of my normal day things, fic obligations, past due and forthcoming. I have a rather unhealthy obsession with them on my Outlook calendar at work, so maybe a private one will do organizational wonders too.
And on the non-fannish/fic horizon, there are... fun travel possibilities. More on that later, if it comes to pass. (Wouldn't want to jinx it.)
Finally, some pimpage:
There's a
Gen Battle going on over at
fox1013's journal. There's already several entries, but like the greedy ficcer I am, I need MOAR. If I can break myself out of the Fic o' Doom, I will try and add something too *g*, as they have some rather tempting prompts. Ends February 29... 28th... how many days are in this month this year?
Write or Die - For my fellow writers. I was a little skeptical that this would work when it was introduced to me by one of my off-LJ buddies last November. However it is... alarmingly good at what it does. There's something just a little bit frightening about your screen going red, and strange noises being blasted at you to KEEP TYPING. But I have a problem with checking my Gmail every five seconds, so it might not be as effective for someone who doesn't want to be bullied by their computer.
But it's kind of fun.
And sadly, my lunch break is over again, so I am off to dream of ways to be cruel to my favorite characters work again.
