The cuddle monster strikes again!
Apparently the stuffed otters in "Otters, Otters Everywhere" were inspired by these, a pair owned by one of my best friends in college. I saw them on her shelf and just about died. I then of course had to let her read said story, and then she was the one roffling. Ahh, good times.
