I just got back from going away for the weekend to find a letter from my grandmother.
It was short and nice, and sort of sadly nostalgic.
There's also a whole heap of photos there too, one of my mum as a four year old, stuffing her face in a 1950's kind of way. Heaps of my grandfather, who nanna knew was important to me.
then a check for $200. Which blows me away.
The whole thing blows me away.
Such a lonely woman, and we get eachother well, as well as a generation gap can at least.
She once told me her life story in about ten minutes, and I was stunned at just how lonely it sounded. I remember being just stumped. Perhaps the first day I realised my nanna was a person and not just my nanna. if you kind of get what i mean.
