Three miles in 28:05

Jun 05, 2009 10:47

While running I think about many things. The three main things I think about are my time, the weather and the reason I am out there. None of those were particularly encouraging thoughts this morning.

I was pacing myself for a longer run. In the middle of the third lap though it occurred to me that maybe I have been exercising too much self-restraint lately. The weather was not going to hold anyway, so I started running at the pace my body felt most comfortable. At the end of the first mile it started to rain. It was a light rain. I kept running.

My next goal in running is six miles in less than an hour. I got close to that goal a while ago (six miles in 63 minutes), but I then suffered some setbacks. I still need to get out there, control my pace and do some longer runs. I want to work on my endurance at a faster pace too though. I guess it will just depend upon the weather and my thoughts as to which goal I strive for each day.
