whoops

 What's up livejournal, I haven't updated you in a while.  I'm officially moved into my new house, it's a great place but I also don't have a scanner anymore so it looks like it's back taking pictures of my sketchbook if I want to update this with real-media things.  I don't have a whole lot to post that isn't a giant block of text so I'll just put a couple scribbles up and a few notes.

...I really need to start drawing Avery, he's pretty much the main character. Whoops.

Random, awk-looking shirtless Brian? Pretend it is a reference of scars. (Really it's because all I do is draw shirtless men?)

I haven't updated Reloh's high form in ages. I kinda like this design and will probably keep/build on it. In case the text is illegible it says "Skin appears to boil & fall off. Muscles expand & rip open as bones grow/become too massive." His high form also stands at 11 feet. Yep.

Bram and Brian. Bram has earrings? Also, despite most regular humans' fear of magic-adepts it is not strange to find normal people working as hired hands for sorcerers who need protection.

Alright, the rest of this entry will just be the notes I wrote to myself in the margins but cropped out of the pictures.  Honestly most of it is incoherent and sounds stupid.

Hierarchy of Power in Circumscription*

The  three Gods of Birth, Life & Death (Noma, Fineer & Eyal) are the most powerful in this story.  Despite that, they have been sleeping/dormant since they sealed their son Reloh away more than 500 years ago.  They will remain that way unless & until they are awakened by the Watchers.

-->

The (bound) demigod Reloh was thrown out of heaven more than 500 years ago for his attempt to take over.  He is the son of the Goddess of Life, Fineer, and a human (Though Noma and Eyal consider him their child as well).  He is the power of a God and the selfishness/corruption of man embodied.  His powers were split into nine and would've remained that way if a curious and powerful magic-adept named Marin hadn't returned his tongue to him (breaking the first of nine seals)

-->

The nine Watchers were created by the Gods (before they went dormant) to stand 'guard' over the nine pieces of Reloh's sealed power.  They are not true guards, however.  They cannot interfere in the affairs of mortals, they can only record what they see.  If all nine of the seals are broken only the Watchers have the ability to rouse the Gods from their slumber.

-->

Guardians are magical beings & vast in number.  They protect, influence & maintain physical aspects of Earth, from swamps to deserts to oceans.  While decidedly strong they are unlike the Gods, Reloh and the Watchers in that they are mortal.  Fights regularly break out between Guardians as they often vie for one another's territory and power.

-->

Magic-adept humans (sorcerers) only exist by blood.  Magic cannot be taught, only inherited.  Sorcerers were supposedly created when the Gods let their blood mingle with humans'.  That might explain why the number of sorcerers has dramatically decreased in the last 500 years.

-->

Average humans are very superstitious of sorcerers, popular lore insinuates that sorcerers stole their power from the Gods & they are dying out because they're being punished for their sins.  Generally humans worship the three Gods & strong (local) Guardians.

*Magical constructs aren't on this list, they vary in strength from below human to above Guardian
