Decently warmish here in Providence. Currently 79˚F. My window is open, but I'm glad I don't have to venture out into the world today, because there's not a cloud in the sky, not a hint of haze. Just hunger.

I commend Spooky for not rear-ending the person with the LOL tag.

It is thanks to Alan Bell that the series is better than the books. I'm half-way through watching season 5 on DVD.

I enjoy both the television show, for all the reasons you mentioned, and the books. I do read crap sometimes and began reading the Sookie series a few years ago during low brain time but her writing style (for me) has a charming Southern flavor. After the book series began selling well, the publisher pushed for more books and she obligued. The original plan was for only eight books but having tons of money held up in front of her face was a good incentive to expand on her story ideas, although a few of the last books are a bit stretched in imagination. Charlaine Harris has been honest about the direction of the series and how adding in more books changed a few things. The last book of the series was recently published and she noted the ending would displease a lot of fans but she went with what she had originally had in mind for Sookie despite the turns made in expansion.

Have a great time in New Orleans! Good to read the mall experience was successful with finding clothing you like, plus on sale is always a nice surprise when you find good clothing choices.
