Well, the good news is that yesterday is over, and that it only had to happen once. That's the only silver lining to shitty days; any given shitty day gets just that one chance ( Read more... )

bad days, winter, sleep, snow, shut in, exhaustion, alabaster, "the road of needles"

Congratulations on the sales and the sleep.

Just made my way over to the Facebook page to do the thumbs-up thing - thanks for sharing the concept art of Dancy! I love behind-the-scenes tidbits. (And I wouldn't have caught the resemblance to Elle Fanning otherwise.)

Thank you.

It grows more pronounced as the series progresses.

There is snow in Alabama! And snow panic. It's been a slog of endless days of rain and gray and the white is a nice change even if there isn't sunshine.

Shared the Alabaster link on FB. Congrats on the sales.

Wishing 2013 will be a year of more of the good and less of the shitty.

The snow was a let down. It came down fast and thick and was lovely for about 20 minutes. Two hours later 90% had melted.

I'll take the comment "Two good ideas" as a good sign. You have a pretty strong good-idea sensor, I'd say.

Now for a bad idea, inspired by the weather! If you had a weather machine, like in Our Man Flint, would you use it? (It's OK, you can have bad ideas about THAT. Those kinds of bad ideas can be fun.)

Actually, getting a really good idea is the hard part, much harder than writing it out.

Not unless I could reverse the damage humans have done that have lead to climate change.

Which obliquely reminds me of Harlan Ellison's "Ecowareness," except that that's more "the earth gets allergic to humans."

(I now feel weird referring to him just as Harlan. I mean, I don't know the guy. So his full name it is.)

Out of curiosity, how did you and he meet? I don't think I've heard that story.)
