Stock photos for covers are becoming more and more common, sadly. It gets commented on a lot on various romance blogs.

But this is worse than a stock photo.

When the cover for The Red Tree was in production, several mock-ups would have been made for the editors to choose one from. This is one of the covers for The Red Tree that wasn't chosen.
