This looks utterly fucking...amazing. The Tempest, directed by the incomparable Julie Taymor, and with Dame Helen Mirren as "Prospera."

I would commend to your attention, should it become available anywhere near you, the recording of The Tempest from the Stratford Festival this summer with Christopher Plummer as Prospero; I did not get the chance to see it live, but it had a couple of cinema showings across Canada within the last couple of weeks and it was excellent in a way I think will nicely complement this one.

Want to come up to Boston and see it?

I was going to ask you that same question. And Greer?

And Greer?

It's The Tempest-I can't imagine she won't. We should e-mail.

Wow, I'm now really looking forward to this one. I very much enjoyed Across the Universe, but it was a bit of a mess, but this looks to be amazing.

I can't believe you hadn't seen this before, or I would have linked to it some weeks back when I first saw it. Well, totally in agreement anyway

I will almost certainly be seeing this the first chance I can. But I have to admit, the trailer makes me quail a bit. And remember fondly (!!!) the Peter Greenaway version from twenty years back.
