Hold on for Round Three of higgledy piggledy.

Yesterday, I wrote 1,413 words on "John Four," and found THE END. It's a strange story, maybe even strange for me. Maybe even grim for me, right down to the irony in the Biblical allusion of its title. I wrote yesterday's pages to the Swans' My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky. Also, books don't usually break when you drop 'em.
True. I have arthritis and find eReaders very uncomfortable to hold, and just the other day dropped (twice) the demonstration model at the local Barnes & Noble. I also find them hard on the eyes. They're not for me.

This style of reading is becoming popular at my local library, where they have a couple thousand digital books available.

They still stock real books, but they also have a few (in comparison to the 162K real books on the shelves) digital books.

Yes, but my local library is also devoting more resources for audio books, foreign language books, CDs, dvds, periodicals, and have quite an extensive graphic novel/comic/manga section in both the adult and YA/teen departments. So while some of the bowing to technological advances is worrisome, it doesn't appear that full blown worship is on the agenda...yet. I don't know how things are going elsewhere, how much balance is being taken into consideration between being up-to-date on technology and what best serves the public's needs.
