2. My great thanks to Ellen (ellen_datlow) and everyone at the Montauk Club in Brooklyn for one of the most thoroughly pleasant readings I've ever been a part of, ever. We read in the old library (the building was erected in 1890), by candlelight. It was magical

Gods, I just can't do buses.

The Providence-Boston-Chinatown bus thing takes more than eight hours, each way. The Peter Pan bus to NYC is not so bad - direct, 3.5 hours, they order people to not use cell phones - but is still about the same price as above, gas and train, or even a little more

5. Last night, as Michael Cisco read from his story, "Machines of Concrete Light and Dark," I scribbled in my Moleskine notebook, "Watching Michael read, seeing him read, is like hearing a ceremony conducted by a high priest of Azathoth."
