I've been using Aplus.net for about 2 years now for 2 domains, this is the hosting plan I have, $9.95 a month for domains isn't too shabby. I haven't had any problems and the 3 sql dbs are nice.
Authors are given five minutes to read. After that, however, there will be a question and answer period for each author, and we will be signing after our scheduled session.
Do you think you'll cut the Q&A to read longer? I'd be tempted, if it were me. And I have given in to such temptations occasionally.
As far as hosting goes, I can highly recommend Machighway. They're all-Mac all the time, and the cheapest plan is about $50/year. My site is hosted with them, and I can say that my spam has plummeted with their filtration system, and I've never had a problem using the FTP to update.
More than welcome! I'm glad to hear it got there intact, as I've had a few P.O. troubles lately.
As to elderly writing tools, I sympathize. I've gone through a series of increasingly spartan desks and computers over the last few years. There seems to be an inverse relationship between the newness of the desk & tools and the quality of the work produced using them, although that may be coincidence.

Unfortunately, I don't think they'd let me do that. Or I would.
