"When is a gift not a gift?"

Tired.

Still not well.

Still haven't seen a great deal of news out of Florida. I just avoid the news these days, by and large. We have acciunted for friends. Here, it was sunny, with a high of 82F.

The afteroon's film was the first half of Denis Villeneuve's Dune (2021). And then tonight we watched the second half, which we'd only seen the once, in Imax, back in the spring. Now, I have actually seen the movie. Together, these two halves form an almost perfect whole.

Also, I finished reading Peter Watts' Behemoth: Seppuku and began Hollywood and the Movies of the Fifties
The Collapse of the Studio System, the Thrill of Cinerama, and the Invasion of the Ultimate Body Snatcher-Television by Foster Hirsch. And no, I do not buy a lot of books. In fact, the last ten years or so, I really cannot afford books and have bought very, very few (though friends and readers have been generous). But I have a library card, and I'm not afraid to use it.

Please visit the shot. The IRS, remember? Thank you.

Later Tater Beans,
Aunt Beast
