As predicted, I spent the day reading Carrie again. Actually, it's possible this is only the second time I've read it. The first time was the summer of 1982. One thing that strikes me, that I'm not sure I caught the first time (I was only eighteen) is the very strong parallel between Carrie White and Elenore Vance. Anyway, I suspect I won't actually finish the book until tomorrow morning, as I'm only a little better than halfway through now.
Oh, yesterday I read Charles Taylor's Opening Wednesday at a Theater or Drive-In Near You: The Shadow Cinema of the American '70s, essentially in a single, long sitting.
The afternoon's film was David Leitch's Atomic Blonde (2017). Also, we saw an unexpectedly good werewolf film last night, Fritz Böhm's Wildling (2018). And good werewolf films are even rarer than good vampire films.
