A sunny-ish day that became an overcast day. Our high was 59F.
An manically productive day. I ride these waves as long as they last. I slept maybe four hours, waking frequently with thoughts of work I should be doing. Finally, I got up at 3:30 and by 4 I was proofreading. A lot of fiction proofreading. 52 pp. on this project (TBA). And then I wrote a letter to all the collaborators involved in MP 2.0 (six of us, at the moment), which took me about an hour, and I sent it away to Mike P. for his approval, which, much to my relief, he gave. Have I mentioned the wave of imposter syndrome that has hit me with this endeavor. And I guess that brought me up to sunrise or thereabouts. I read for a while, until Kathryn got up.
I did some work on the Bashi Marl matrix today. A Cretaceous lover's "side hustle" in the Eocene.
I spoke with Jun. I'll be at McWane tomorrow, and I hope I'll get a long day in. I seriously need to get down to brass tacks, as they say, writing up the material I brought back from Tuscaloosa back in November. In paleontology, I am most comfortable when I am doing "simple" morphology, describing bones, musculature, etc. Old school zoology. The math and computer modeling on this one will find me soon enough.
Late today, an editor at an imprint at HarperCollins asked me to read a book with an eye towards blurbing it. I get a lot of these and almost never say yes. This time I said yes. So, we shall see.
Oh, there was an email to Adiel in Tuscaloosa about a project I hope he'll be interested in. And I started drawing the monster doodles that are
coming free with copies of Vile Affections bought directly from us.
There was so much today, I can't remember it all.
But those are good days.
Later Tater Beans,
