"Every step we took that synchronized, every broken bone..."

Rain, rain, rain. I think we saw a few seconds sunlight this afternoon. But mostly rain, fog filling the valley, thunderstorms. We have a flash flood watch through Saturday. But it's warm, warmer than it should be. We made it to 70F today.

I feel like I hardly slept last night, thanks to these damn teeth.

Virginia Woolf was born on this day in 1882.

Also, on this day in 1348, an earthquake with epicenter in the European Southern Alps and measuring approximately magnitude 6+ destroyed the Austrian town of Villach and caused one of the largest landslides known to have occurred in the Alps, killing 5,000 people.

Oh, and this is kind of awesome, if you love cicadas the way I do: Billions of cicadas will emerge in the U.S. this year in a rare double-brood event. This year's dual emergence is a rare, synchronized event that last occurred in 1803.

Anyway...

This afternoon's film was George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road (2015).

An odd year, 2015. There was a dental nightmare then, too. And we spent the first 3+ months of the year in a cabin in Woodstock, NY, thanks to Neil Gaiman. Snowed in about half the time. In the shadow of Overlook Mountain. It was the year I quit Dark Horse for the second and final time, in, I think, February. Off the top of my head, I do not recall much about the rest of the year. Lord, I miss Woodstock. I do not miss Dark Horse.

Oh, this photo. Spooky took it yesterday, It is a cryptic one.

Later Tater Beans,
Aunt Beast
