I woke late, feeling crappy, to rain. But by late afternoon there was some clearing. It won't last, but it's good to get breaks in the monsoon. Our high was a pleasant, if damp, 63F.
If it's a choice between freezing and drowning, I'll choose drowning every time.
In no way, was today the day I had hoped it would be.
I have that sort of almost crippling nostalgia that finds me a times like this, when almost any time before the miserable present seems like a goddamn golden age. That said, this is an especially lousy point in both my personal history and that of this country. Not shit I wanted to live to see. Still, letting it gnaw at me is hardly productive. It's wallowing. It's irrational.
This afternoon's film was Tarantino's Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood (2019).
