Sunny most of the day, but some clouds moving in this afternoon. Once again, an open window day in November. Our high was a very pleasant 73F.
I overslept again, not waking until after 7:30 a.m., BUT...I still managed to get back to work on The Night Watchers - finally - and did 1,298 words. And I did two hours on the early Eocene Bashi Marl sample. I am finding shark teeth so small...well, I'll post a photo one day.
I forgot to mention that when I was sining all those books yesterday I signed copies of Cambrian Tales (2021) and the new French edition of The Drowning Girl: A Memoir (2023) for the first time.
I know some people age gracefully, and I know some people boast that aging is a breeze. Myself, if there's any upside, I have yet to see it. But...you know what, a different discussion for another day. I'm just really feeling it lately.
Last night, Kathryn and I tried to get into Bodies on Netflix, based on some or another Vertigo comic (Vertigo's still around?), and after two incredibly dull and artless episodes, we called it quits. This afternoon's film was Tarantino's magnificient Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood (2019).
If you haven't looked at
the Dreaming Squid Sundries shop in a while, please do. We have,
for a limited time, copies of Vile Affections (2021), my most recent short story collection, the deluxe-limited clothbound harback, for only $30. That's $15 off the publication price. Plus, for the collector, rarities like the lettered edition of the
False/Starts chapbook (2005) and the trade hadback first edition of
The Dry Salvages (2004). Thanks.
