"Dreams are messages from the deep." (again)

Overcast all day, but not rain, like yesterday Our high was 71F. Suddenly, the leaves are turning.

Up before 6 a.m. I went through a bunch of my notes on The Night Watchers. Tomorrow Kathryn and I have to talk through some of "what happens next" (a loathsome phrase), and then I can get back to actually writing it. Later in the morning, I organized a few hundred photos that will be used writing MP 2.0, and I made the first tenstive attempts at starting part of it. All in all, I knew the day would be too chaotic to get any real work done.

Selwyn came home early in the afternoon. All in all, he's doing well. I am immensely grateful to everyone who has contributed to his surgery GoFundMe. Thank you. You are very kind, all of you.

The afternoon's film was Denis Villeneuve's Dune (Part One; 2021). I'm bad about forming images of precisely how I want characters from books to be portrayed in film versions, and I'm also bad about wanting the films to be very devoted to how the characters appeared in the source material. But every time I see this film I am impressed a little more with how Sharon Duncan-Brewster to the role of Dr. Liet Kynes and made it her own. And Jason Momoa, I was genuinely pissed when I learned that the doofus from Aquaman would be playing Duncan Idaho, and now I cannot see Duncan as anyone else. I am very often wrong.

Please visit the Dreaming Squid Sundries. Books and tie dye. Thanks.

Later Tater Beans,
Aunt Beast
