"Hope is a dangerous thing." (358)

Jul 26, 2023 16:51

A hot day. Sunny. Our high was (so far) 96F, with a heat index of 99F.

I learned that Ellen Datlow's anthology Screams from the Dark: 29 Tales of Monsters and the Monstrous, has been nominated for this year's World Fantasy Award. Fingers crossed. The book includes my story "Strandling," written in May and June of 2021.

This afternoon's film was Sam Mendes' brilliant 1917 (2019).

I've heard the news of Sinéad O'Connor's death. She was only 56.

And I began reading James M. Scott's Black Snow: Curtis LeMay, the Firebombing of Tokyo, and the Road to the Atomic Bomb.

Please, have a look at the Dreaming Squid Sundries shop. There are so many fine examples of Spooky's tie-dye work up.

Later,
Aunt Beast
