The high today was 86˚F, with a heat index of 92˚F.
And a spent an enormous amount of time on a story called "Our Lady of Arsia Mons," trying to make it fit for Bradbury Weather, tweaking this sentence and revising that sentence. But it was a futile waste. This is a story I wrote in September 2012, when I was on a very, very high dose of Gabapentin for peripheral neuropathy, and it made me dumb as hell. A lot of the stories I wrote at the time have had to be heavily reworked, but a few, like "Our Lady of Arsia Mons," are hopeless tangles. And, besides, it really too blatantly Lovecraftian for this book. Ergo, I have cut it. So, that sucked.
Later, though, I talked with Mike about the best way to proceed, making two papers into one. Let's call it MP2. He was extremely helpful, and I'll get back to it tomorrow, after the writerly stuff. My new target for submitting the paper is late September.
