The One-Delta Isomer

Apr 12, 2022 21:53

I think I slept seven and a half hours without waking once, almost unheard of, and now, two hours later I am still hardly awake. I get these sleep attacks after long spells of insomnia.

Mostly sunny today, with a high of 80˚F.

Another decent day. Mike P. and I talked a couple of times. I got back to work on MP1. I'm searching for a cover of Bradbury Weather. Late in the day there was a phone conversation with Sonya, and it was the first time we'd spoken in a couple of months: the vagaries of binomial nomenclature, Latin and Greek, politics, the nightmare of American fascism, Governor Meemaw, the new Jim Crow, the need for Kathryn and I to return to New England, how much I hate the cold, recent films, mosasaurs, J. Robert Oppenheimer, and so forth.

I was told today that saying, "I'm a very hard person to offend" is a 'microaggression.' I politely asked the person to fuck off. Near as I can guess, the "reasoning" here is that by saying I'm hard to offend I'm passing judgement on the easily offended (which seems, to me, to be an awful lot of the world these days).

Don't forget the Big Cartel shop.
