A chilly, sunny day. Our high was 64˚F, but it never felt that warm. However, truly warm temperatures are arriving over the next couple of days.
Today Kathryn read "Night Fishing" (and liked it a lot; a "slow burn" she said), and then I read all the way through it again. I'll make the last bunch of line edits in the morning and email it away to Weird Tales before I go into McWane. And I did a little work on Winifred today. I downloaded a new paper Paleontology that I need to read, "Climate, competition, and the rise of mosasauroid ecomorphological disparity."
This afternoon, a really excellent 2014 documentary about Hyman G. Rickover and his development of nuclear propulsion, with particular reference to the USS Nautilus. In some genuinely entertaining historical reenactments, Admiral Rickover was played by Tim Blake Nelson. And then there was another documentary, this one on the sinking of the USS Indianapolis in August 1945.
The Big Cartel shop is doing better than I'd hoped. Thanks to the people who've visited. We are now offering Vile Affections and Cambrian Tales as a packaged set; I'll be doing a monster doodle on the title page of Vile Affections and signing both books. But, as they say, supplies are limited and they won't last long.
Later Tater Beans,
