"I live in an age that calls darkness light..."

Three nights of utterly shitty, nightmare-riddled sleep.

I think the only good thing about today was that the sun actually came out about 2 p.m. The temperature managed to reach 44˚F. Just got to get through these brief little shivers; spring is near.

I gave in and watched Chloé Zhao's Eternals, and that was a very unfortunate decision, as it is a most unfortunate film. But at least now I understand why it has a 47% rating at Rotten Tomatoes. What an utter and complete train wreck. There's so little right about this film...to start with, seriously, you could shave at least 45 minutes off its interminable 2 hour and 37 minute running time and things would only get better. I mean, what the fuck was the point? It isn't fun. Until the last hour or so it is neither interesting nor exciting. Someone thought we should have a faux Aronofsky film set in the Marvel universe? That first hour and a half, there's nothing. Just stilted dialog delivered by actors who look like they'd rather be somewhere else, everything spoken...very...very...slowly...over a minimalist...film score..in a...dogged attempt...to fool us into...thinking...this film has..transcended...the genre. With art. And stuff. The only halfway decent performance comes from Angelina Jolie. That, in and of itself, is a sign that something is seriously amiss.

I was supposed to talk to my agent today, but now we'll be talking on Tuesday, instead.

Oh, and Beth Dutton is my spirit animal.

And there are books and audiobooks (on CD) up on eBay. So, please, buy something.
