Today's weather was yesterday's weather. Cold, rainy, lightless. Foul. Our high was 59˚F, and it is now 58˚F. I kept the blinds shut and avoided the windows.
I finished reading The Missing Lynx: The Past and Future of Britain's Lost Mammals by paleogeneticist Ross Barnett. It is an excellent book, and I very much recommend it, especially to those who don't think humanity is the single greatest causative agent the the Late Pleistocene/Holocene megafaunal extinctions.
I watched a documentary of the sinking of Nazi U-166 in the Gulf of Mexico, just south of New Orleans, in 1942 by U.S. Navy Patrol Craft 566, moments after if sank the passenger steamship SS Robert E. Lee. And another about the history of Coney Island.
That was today.
