"But I got debts that no honest man can pay."

Toady was a better day. Ignoring the dismal weather forecast, the sun came out mid morning and stay out all day. It was something I desperately needed. My mind and eyes become starved for sunlight, and it had been a week. Our high was 85˚F, with a heat index of 91˚F. Currently, it's 84˚F, with the heat index at 88˚F.

I worked all morning and into the afternoon, until about 1:15, when I stopped to sign eBay books for Spooky. By the way, going forward, I will only be signing and offering to inscribe a book to winning bidders ("To Whoever...", "For Whoever..."). The Lamictal I take to control my seizure disorder often causes my hands to shake, and my handwriting has become almost illegible. I worry too much about ruining an expensive book by having an inscription blow out on me to write anything more in the books we sell. By the way, here's the link for the current eBay auctions. I forgot to include it in yesterday's post. My head was still deep in The Goldfinch. And yes, the unpredictable trembling in my hands makes preparing fossils a lot harder and much slower.

I have had to postpone my visit to McWane, from Tuesday to Wednesday, because of - well, stupid things. A dead battery in my digital calipers. Et cetera.

This afternoon, I resumed my Denis Villeneuve film festival, Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal in Prisoners (2013).

I began reading Nathaniel Philbrick's In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex.
